I apologize if i have confused some of you with the title of this post, but this post is not only for my personal archive , but hopefully it evolves and becomes a positive resource to the modding community of the near future ...  4-5 years ago there was a very heavily influenced modding community on the XB360 scene..  i got my first solder kit and some coronav2 chips and its been a big haze of fun since..

although my youtube was not big, the videos were there just to add legitimacy to the forums posts they were displayed on . At the age of 14 i was able to bring in several clients a week for several games on different forum platforms.. TTG, SE7ENSINS, MPGH, etc.. to work on accounts for games like Borderlands Series, COD Series, and much more..

Now that we got the boring part out of the way..

This always left a lingering curiosity in me ...

A few weeks ago upon changing the resolution of my game , i came across some .pak files. I was curious to see if there was any files i could edit or take a peek at in the Program Files that may potentially come across some client sided fun..
Whats a .PAK file?

A PAK file is an archive used by video games such as Quake, Hexen, Crysis, Far Cry, and Half-Life. It may include graphics, objects, textures, sounds, and other game data "packed" into a single file. PAK files are often just a renamed .ZIP file.

I took my curiosity to a place most people do and yielded some good results on Google and other modding forums.

Like most games there are ways to edit HEX in .pak files without needing any specific permissions / programs.. Whats cool is Epic has released actual AES HEX Keys to grant access into taking a deeper dive into the game files. This is how people are able to exploit/LEAK skins/emotes/addons  before patch nodes are even released. In fact, I had seen/used'inlobby' the Sushi and Panda skins before they had released, aswell as the Llama Bell Emote..

I have been searching for people that have similar interests who would enjoy spending time trying to further study Fortnite BR's exploits leading up to its final release.

Epic knows about this, it's called datamining. This upcoming Thursday's update (Patch 5.30) will stop or at least reduce the amount of people leaking in-game files.

i dont think so , only thing i can think of is them adding a new hex key for taking a deeper look in uModel but aside form that there really isnt much they can do ..
