Hello everyone
I've stumbled on one last problem with the java-run app I need for my thesis: it does not include a specific option that would save me hours, if not days, of time and required patience.
The problem is that I cannot explain the problem here in detail, because then the developers might very well suspect ... unorthodox practices. Hence, I do not use terms that are generally used within the app; if someone would like me to explain the situation in a more non-nonsensical way, please PM me or comment here.
All I can say now is the following: I have medical imaging of a patient. It consists of multiple recordings in time. I have this specific volume that is identical in shape within all recordings in time. But, some values that belong to the volume, differ of course in time. There's one type of value that is important here. Let's call it the "average value". The average value of the volume differs in time.
I need to make another volume, of which all the units have a value that is greater than a specific value greater than 1.5 times the average value of that previously discussed volume, without having to calculate the needed threshold for each individual frame.
Now here's the problem with the program: it allows me to make another volume of which the units have a value that (a) is a percentage of the (b) maximum or the difference between the maximum and minimum value of the initial volume.
2 problems here: the percentage cannot be greater than 100, and there is obviously no option to do it relative to the average value, but only the maximum value and the difference between the maximum and minimum value.
I'm confident that within the .jar file, which I have identified, the "average" value of a volume is already defined (since the program surely can calculate the average value). The trick is to adjust the .jar file to make the "average" value a possible option (cf. (b)), and to make the allowed maximal percentage greater than 100.
If my explanation is not clear, please do ask me for further elaboration. If someone would like to see the problem with screenshots or in person, I can send them by PM or send the program in full, with a scan of my own head to try out, via WeT. I would post screenshots here, but I'm terrified of being hoisted out of my bed in the morning by the feds.
Gratefully,
TTB
