Macbook Pro taking too long to boot

Issa mid 2010ish MacBook that I bought used.

The laptop worked fine at first, after a month or two of use, it started to be really slow (non responsive browser and applications).
Restarted it and it got stuck on the loading screen (takes cca 10 minutes to get to 100%), after that, I re-installed the OS, worked for maybe like two weeks and now it's endlessly loading and shutting down again.

Is it the HDD? Would replacing it with SSD work?

Appreciate it in advance Gs!
Can you upgrade macbooks? Always heard you couldn't.

Anyway it might have simply gotten apple'd. They designed to fail after some time
SSD upgrades should still be possible on a 2010. I did it with my old 2008 Pro and hell, it was the best decision I ever made.
Do it. And while you're at it, maybe start with a clean OS. Backup the files you need and start fresh on a SSD.

You don't even need to buy from a "Mac specific store". Simply buy off Amazon, should be cheaper. Any 2.5" SSD will do. At least that was the case with my 2008, simply pull the old HDD out of the case, put the new SSD in. Only a few normal screws, any precision screwdriver set should be able to get them out.

And dunno if 120GB would be enough for you, depends on what you're doing. Most people won't be able to get along under 240GB though.

Nah it's good, it's a macbook for work only basically.

Much love for the help! If you want, you can DM me with some Amazon links and when I get the purchase, you'll get the referral $$ or whatever :)

Peace!
