Increase Desktop Speed?

Just got my moms computer she got a few years back, it had been pretty after there was a shit ton of files downloaded to it.

It was originally a Windows 7 computer which upgraded for Free to Windows 10

I downgraded it myself to Windows 7 Ultimate just a few days ago when I got it.

It didn't come with Wifi so I bought a Wireless Network Adapter and set that up today, now that it's all setup I wanted to see how I can increase the speed on it.

As far as the computer itself it doesn't seem to function slow really, It just seems to be when I'm browsing the internet.

Like loading pages and stuff like that it's not all that quick.

I'm using my chromebook to type this, and it loads pages much more smooth so I don't think it's my wifi?

What can I do?

Willing to invest money to get the speed up some.

Let me know.

Also, I didn't know where to post this so hopefully here is correct.

We would need to know what hardware you have...

Download Speccy and post a screenshot.

Can’t really help until we onow what your working with.

Just added it to the OP.
Yeah... about that... not really anything to buy.

Basically it’s as good as it’s going to get from a hardware point of view.
Buy a SSD, that helped me speed up my old laptop

So there's no parts or anything I can replace to make it faster?

It’s a laptop....

While I can’t be 100% certain, I’m 99% sure the CPU cannot be upgraded.

As for any other components... the CPU will still be the bottleneck and buying anyhing is just going to be a waste.
Damn that has better specs than what i'm using now lmao

People are really into the fast life now.
Also, maybe upgrade Windows From OS 7? would think that help.

It isn't a laptop

what? lol
That CPU is going to really hold you back, one of the lowest performing CPU's you can get.

Not at all, that made it worse. One reason I downgraded to begin with.

So it's then, the CPU?

Yeah, but it isn't as easy as just plugging a new CPU into the laptop, for one that motherboard probably only accepts that CPU.

edit: I see earlier in the thread you said this isn't a laptop? If so, find out what chipset your motherboard takes and see which processor you can swap it out with.

I did mix up my post, however, your CPU is soldered to the motherboard, which is the same situation as a laptop.... Given it’s pre-built, likely HP, the motherboard is likely a proprietary size so to replace the motherboard, ram and CPU your looking at new case as well as a graphics card and new PSU as you currently have an APU (CPU AND GPU together) with no dedicated graphics card.

It’s just not worth putting any money into.

The CPU is on a BGA socket (soldered) read my above post.
