what Linux skill is required to be an expert hacker?
Like Kernel mode developing and studying the source code of Linux?
What should I learn and study to become a good hacker?
I want to work for govt. what knowledge should I have? How can I prepare myself?
My Target and aim is govt. agencies like NSA or FBI.
Thanks and any useful advice is appreciated.
NSA takes the best of the best. If you are looking forward to it then, you need to get some good amount of knowledge on Cryptography, steganography, penetration testing, exploit development. Learning Linux is one of the few first steps to become a good hacker. Read through the articles at OWASP, read null-byte and study from cybrary and few other hacking sites. Master anyone programming language and understand how the OS works, how networks behave etc.
PM me if you want to rent this signature space.
PM me if you want to buy bytes.
PM me if you want to be repped.

Check online for Operating Systems books, knowing every deep detail of linux will ofc help you, but you have to know even windows.
To work for them you probably need a degree in Computer science or some important publications.
Programming in C,Java,Python at least. Assembly and optimizations. Networks, protocols.
And many other stuffs.
Probably you can’t work for them following the thousands tutorials out there about medium/low level tools or hacking guides.

Let me start with Linux. What do you say?
What should I learn in Linux? like suggest me any books or what resource should I learn.
I wanna take the role of malware analysis and author. should I have to learn penetraiton testing, networking and exploit development.
is not only learning to programming and mastering is enough?
Thanks

ok, I will learn operating system developing but can you refer me any book on Linux?
I will also learn C programming language.
Starting with Linux is always a good option. Read through online resources. Linux Bible is a good book worth a read. Learn bash scripting. Then learn a programming language preferably C or Python. Learning Exploit Building, Networking, and penetration testing would help you to learn malware analysis. It's kinda like an interconnected Web. I would suggest you do the same though you may go on a different path, no hard and fast rule in that.

I have personally studied some years ago on Abraham Silberschatz , Peter Baer Galvin, Greg Gagne book Operating system not particularly expensive condisering almost 900 pages full, anyway not cheap. idk if there is an ebook version.
Edit: I found a 9th edition of the book

If you need to search for ebooks. Type: Code <ebook name> file:pdf
