Hi guys, I'm sorry to bother you in the Lounge section however I had no clue where to post this so here I am.

As you can see I have a Ub3r membership and used to have only positive rep (had around +200, don't really know where it is now as I haven't been around for a while). Going the short way here, I got my 2FA activated a long time ago and I never really got to use it as I was connected with my PC 24/7. My PC broke and had to buy a new one, along with my iPhone and I can't seem to retrieve the token. I do have the authy account, I can't find the HF token though, I can only find my bitcoin wallets ones. I'm sure I have the backup key saved somewhere.. I remember it was 6 digits but I still can't manage to find it, God knows where the hell it is. I used the contact function and I got replied by a certain "Jesse" saying:

"We do not assist with account recovery. If you've lost access to your credentials then unfortunately the account is lost. It was your responsibility to secure your account."

I saw Omni helping some user out with this issue when it was needed. But when I asked for a way to contact him I got ignored. Is acting like a massive dick the way to treat old recurring members who find themselves in a shitty situation and happen to ask for help? Never would I have thought I had to do this, I still want to give back to the community and I really seem to be unable to do so. Hope this can be solved, or it will be a sad fucking day. 😟

Unfortunately you are screwed.

Accounts are no longer recovered.

This is why I always recommend people to use Authy since it's linked to your phone # so you can recover it easily.

Unless they keep backups of their Google Authenticator recovery key

Well I do have Authy, I managed to recover my Authy account but for some reason my HF token won't show up, that's the problem.

Well I just found the voice where they say the do not offer any more help for account recovery. That really sucks. At least you could tell me the Token name on the Authy app, and I'll see if there's any way I can recover it within their support. That's the only thing I can do apparently.

If you have other tokens showing up but not your HF token that would indicate it was either never there in the first place or you deleted it at some point.

Are you sure you didn't use any other 2FA service?

I've switched phones and recovered authy multiple times and never had missing tokens.

I'd recommend adding authy to your current account so you can figure out what it's called by default and then contacting Authy support although I doubt they can help you since it's all encrypted.

Yeah as I said, I never really had the need to use it, I just wanted extra-safety for the account but it has screwed me up now apparently

It indeed was there. I remember logging in using GAuth a few times here and there in the period of time right after I enabled it.

Do you use the Authy chrome extension or anything else that isn't on mobile?
I had a problem a while ago that the chrome extension was not in sync or something but it wasn't generating the right code.
I fixed it by using the mobile app and reauthenticating the chrome extension.

Also, don't know if I understand your problem correctly but if you think that your token is removed you can add them back in the settings in the 'external accounts' tab

Wish you luck with this, I know how hard it sucks.
