Seems we found a bug on our end which basically gave upgraded members unlimited time edits. So a 5 year old post could be edited. This was not intended and part of the upgrade feature was to edit up to a certain point. For instance it was 30 days for l33t.
We did add our edit history plugin which gave us more control over edits and edit abuse but we didn't notice this conflict with another setting which was in minutes and not seconds.
It's now being fixed and you might get an error attempting to edit an older post.
I have increased the limit for ub3r (180 days), r00t (180 days) and l33t (90 days). Vendors will get unlimited edit time. Also we exempt paid stickies and threads with Sales Tags from the limit.
The upgrade page now reflects the new settings of the upgrade feature.
Thank you.
Good catch and the edit history plugin really helps against edit abuse. Thanks for the update Omni and good work as usual

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Noticed this a while ago but didn't think it was unintentional. Makes sense though, reasonable edit times that's nice.
I'm sure this would have caused problems if it continued on unfixed. Thanks!

It's a good thing that the bug was caught & resolved before anything major could have come of it. Good work Omni & remaining staff.

The worst that could have happened is a user could go back and erase the content from their old posts. However Staff/Admins have the ability to revert edits back to their original text and we can even do it in bulk. It is actually very easy for Staff to notice this in our logs. All that happens is their posts get reverted and then they will likely receive a ban for mass removing content. Now at least some wont slip through the cracks.

Sir when vend0rs will be available to purchase and are there any requirements?
It's more than reasonable to have 180 or 90 days to edit your stuff, especially if it's a non-sales thread. Good job guys.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.
Peace out!

So I can't edit a marketplace thread since its old? Regardless of when it was last edited?
This penalises long standing members and negatively impacts the experience for someone who's been active on the forum for longer..
Looks like I need to wait a week + before getting a sticky to even be able to edit my thread since Ive been running a marketplace thread for 4 years?

It's $20/mo for a sales tag. Don't be a baby.

Or wait until the V3ND0R group is public.
