If you do not want to use it Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel to make or export to excel file you can make .cvs file which can be opened through the excel.It depends what you want to export,i personally do not generate excel file in this way because i'm more attached to the reports and crystal reports the easiest way to provide expropriation to pdf,excel,word.
