I don't know if this is the right section to post in but I have a question regarding my PC.
I built a pc a while back that has a GTX 1070 + I5 4690k @4.00GHz, 16gb DDR3 ram. the whole works. I recently got a 144Hz monitor so obviously I would want to run my games at 144fps minimum. I have currently been playing a lot of Apex Legends and for some reason, my fps hovers at 50 +-5 and will dip below 20fps at times. I also use to play a bunch of fortnite and that would usually be at 144fps but will still drop to below 20fps and constantly mess up my game. My graphic settings are not high at all on either game but for some reason my computer will not run well with either.
I have used HWmonitor in game to see if my temps are getting too high or anything but all of that is within normal temps. CPU utilization is at 100% in both games but that is pretty normal. (right?)
I have tried legitimately everything to fix my computer but nothing works. I don't think my cpu is bottlenecking my gpu but if that's the case, let me know. If you have any ideas for how I could fix this, also let me know.
