Will Virtual Reality become Reality?

I want to have a logical discussion with everyone regarding this topic, as many of you know Virtual Reality is being used more often these days and is fairly new, and different to any other technology we have today. Before getting into this discussion I urge everyone to watch the video below and then read what I have to say under it. 🤝

I was amazed when I watched the video, the possibility of living a different life from inside your home never ceased to amazed me. The only difficulty I would see would be showering and eating, however in the video the guy managed to fulfill those needs. In terms of physical activity, as you may have seen it is possible to remain fit using the VR system as you can workout with others and do other activities as well, such as yoga. The only time I would imagine you would actually have to take off the VR is when you need to restock on food, or shower. Can our reality become dreams? and our dreams become reality?
It may seem scary or shocking to many, this can actually become the daily life for someone.

It is also important to note technology is advancing day by day, the VR will only advance from here, more options could be added such as a actually new life. Surprised this hasn't been a black mirror episode, but what do you guys think about this. I am really hoping to read a lot of different opinions.
anime will be real life one day and we will all become magic girls.

It will become so real that we will get stuck in a artificial dream, just what madara uchicha wanted ( Naruto reference )
If you think about it, we’re already kind of dipping our feet in it. I feel like in a few years you won’t need people to actually work in factories, stores,...

Are you talking in terms of robot technology or VR?

I was referring to robot technology, my bad. Now that you mention it, it’s kind of off topic when I think about it. But yeah.. it’s a liiittle tiny bit of virtual reality still. Everything’s gonna be controlled by somebody eventually. We’re already “controlled” by banks. They see what we spend on, how much we spend, where we spend it,..

Yes, this will happen.
Virtual reality headsets are just entertainment tools. A person can't make a living while entertaining himself. Maybe some privileged rich kids will have the ability to spend most of their time entertaining themselves, but these are just a minority.

Well that is the issue here, how much time do people usually spend on "entertainment tools", a majority of their time. This "tool" in particular provides a different lifestyle for a majority of people. Yes it is true they cannot make a living, but they can escape reality for sure.

"a majority of their time". No, most people spend the majority of their time studying, working or teaching their kids. Only some college students (with their parents tolerance) can manage to waste a whole day in pure entertainment, and even then they end up regretting it because they won't pass the exams.
virtual reality IS my reality, i rarely leave my helmet
Maybe in the next 30 years yes..
I remember watching about a guy that made all his family and friends into a sims game and lived there instead of his life :D
