Dns spoofing

Hey
I, a very beginner lvl pentester, currently got a minor side job (it’s more for practice than anything else, not rly serious)
I am mainly supposed to test the people‘s awareness from hacking.
Now I want to trick them into accessing a cloned version of their intranet. For this I need to do some dns spoofing. Now, dns spoofing isn’t working on wifi as far as I know. Is there any workaround for that?
An alternative would be getting the router password (what I think should be possible) and then do some changing to the dns configuration. I just couldn’t find any way to modify the dns without having to use an entirely new one (on google).
I rly appreciate any advice, it would help me a lot.
Look up a MITM attack, that's what you need to perform.

I know what a MITM attack is... but from what I know it is only used for sniffing, and it isn’t a mass attack...
