So I am on a budget and I been actually really thinking hard about going back to desktop and I don't want to do a custom build I want something that I can just run straight out of the box for under $300.
So my local Walmart has a HP Slimline 290-p0043w with a Celeron G4900 LGA1151 which has a few upgrade options on a good discount.
I could go for i3-8100 in the future with it but that is $120, however the Pentium Gold G5400 is available for under $60 obviously one is a dual core one is a quad core.
But I am running a Pentium N4200 as of right now which the Pentium Gold G5400 seems to be a lot faster option.
My intended tasks are browsing, youtube, netflix, slight gaming nothing major, skype, and occasional photoshop, all which I am doing on a n4200 as of right now.
So what are your thoughts on the G5400 as an upgrade in the Slimline? do you think it is a fair processor for my intended tasks?.
