why is ewhoring in the hacking category? its ripping off lonely married dudes with credit card debt.

maybe a "social engineering" section is more appropriate. having it in the hacking section is pretty degrading to real programmers/hackers.

its worse than Nigerian scammers.

We used to have SE section long ago. Ewhoring was part of it but as SE section was removed due to excessive fraudulent activity, Omni put ewhore forum where it is today.
Staff member 10th Jan 2017 - 30th May 2020.

Now onto the hacking aspect of E-whoring, E-whoring requires apps and software in order to make someone believe they are actually talking to a person, This usually means reverse engineering chat platforms or modifying them to allow functions otherwise not available to them (The literal definition of hacking)

Also there was a SE section along time ago when everyone thought you could do and say what you want with a little disclaimer and the police wouldn't do anything about it, As laws became more complex and stringent on the allowed activities online, The forums adapted with these laws banning anything that was outright blackhat in nature.

The SE section was just absolutely illegal asf, People selling PID scam's for stuff like razer keyboards etc etc.
