The Requirements System
of HackForums Explained

Introduction:
As you know (or don't) there are requirements around HF that prevent certain usergroups from using the various features HF has to offer.
To give you a better understanding of what you can and can't do, I'll explain the requirements system in this thread.
Take a look below to find the topics that interest you and see what requirements are put in place.

Avatars
Changing Username
Custom Usertitle
Popularity / Reputation
Posting Links / Images
Posting / Making Threads & Editing Them
Private Messages
Searching
Signatures
Trust Scan
Upgrades




Avatars:

Default / Premade Avatars
- usable for everyone >>>here

Custom Avatar
- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r
- image can't be larger than 120x150 pixels
- image can't be larger than 100KB

Changing Username:

- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r
- username must have at least 4 visible characters
- Ub3rs can have 3 character usernames

Custom Usertitle:

- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r
- maximum of 35 characters

Popularity:

Popularity / Reputation can only be given by upgraded members.
Depending on the upgrade you can give more popularity than others.

L33t: +1 | 0

Ub3r: +3 | -3

V3ndor (w/ L33t): +5 | 0
V3ndor (w/ Ub3r): +5 | -5

Posting Links / Images:

Posting Links
- minimum of 50 quality posts / upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Posting Images
- minimum of 50 quality posts / upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Posting / Making Threads & Editing Them

Posting
- no requirements

Post Length
Regular Member: 8,000 characters
L33t: 12,000 characters
Ub3r: 30,000 characters
V3ndor: 40,000 characters

Making Threads

Marketplace / Premium Sellers Section
- upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Science, Religion, Philosophy, and Politics Section
- upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Other Sections
- no requirements


Editing Posts / Threads
Regular Member: 5x in a 60-day period
L33t: 10x in a 90-day period
Ub3r: 15x in 180-day period
V3ndor: unlimited & no edit time limit

Closing Threads / Deleting Posts
- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Private Messages:

Sending Private Messages
- minimum of 25 quality posts / L33t or Ub3r

Receiving Private Messages
- no requirements

Inbox Size
L33t: increases the inbox size to 2,500
Ub3r: increases the inbox size to 10,000
V3ndor: increases the inbox size to 25,000

Message Pruning
Regular Member: messages older than 2 months
L33t: messages older than 6 months
Ub3r: messages older than 1 year
V3ndor: unknown

Searching:

Regular Member:
L33t: 5 second search flood limit
Ub3r: 5 second search flood limit
V3ndor: unknown

Signatures:

Signature Text
- no usergroup requirements
- maximum of 250 characters

Signature Image
- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r
- maximum of one image
- image can't be larger than 600x200 pixels
- image can't be larger than 500KB

Trust Scan:

- must be upgraded to L33t or Ub3r

Upgrades:

L33t

- no requirements >>>upgrade here

Ub3r

- must be upgraded to L33t
- account is at least 60 days old
- made 100 or more posts
- have at least 50 popularity >>>upgrade here

V3ndor

- must be upgraded to L33t
- $100 fee
- need to get accepted >>>apply here
