Give this article a read, lol. What the fuck was he on?
The main pieces of the article:
- A critical-care doctor in Ohio who authorities believe “purposely caused the death” of 25 hospital patients that overdosed on the opioid painkiller fentanyl was arrested and charged with murder Wednesday.
- More than two dozen wrongful-death lawsuits have been filed against Husel and the hospital system, some of which have been settled by the hospital for hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to the Associated Press.
- Husel ordered that patients receive doses of fentanyl "in various amounts between 500 and 2000 micrograms ... that shortened their life and hastened or caused their death."
- A judge posted bail at $1 million and Husel surrendered his passport at the request of prosecutor Ron O’Brien.

Damn! If anyone is wondering the normal safe limit would be,
Surgery Premedication
•50-100 mcg/dose IM or slow IV 30-60 min prior to surgery
•Adjunct to regional anesthesia: 25-100 mcg/dose slow IV over 1-2 min
General Anesthesia
•Minor surgical procedures: 0.5-2 mcg/kg/dose IV
•Major surgery: 2-20 mcg/kg/dose initially; 1-2 mcg/kg/hr maintenance infusion IV; discontinue infusion 30-60 min prior to end of surgery; limit total fentanyl doses to 10-15 mcg/kg for fast tracking and early extubation
•Adjunct to general anesthesia (rarely used): 20-50 mcg/kg/dose IV
Analgesia (Off-label)
•Analgesia: 1-2 mcg/kg IV bolus or 25-100 mcg/dose PRN or 1-2 mcg/kg/hr by continuous IV infusion or 25-200 mcg/hr
•Severe pain: 50-100 mcg/dose IV/IM q1-2hr PRN (patients with prior opioid exposure may tolerate higher initial doses)
•Patient controlled anesthesia (PCA): 10 mcg/mL IV (usual concentration); 20 mcg demand dose with 5-10 min lockout time interval and base rate of ≤50mcg/hr
This doctor gave these patients 500mcg - 2000mcg which is x13 times more than the safely prescribed limit. Only 2-3mg of fentanyl can kill a person.
1000mcg = 1mg

I guess they just take orders from their higher up, strange that no one caught on after a couple of deaths. It took 25 deaths for people to realize something is up.
Seems like the doctor's defence is that the patients were going to die, it was just a way to hastened the death. Euthanasia is illegal in Ohio, so I am not sure where he is going with this.

I know where he is going with this, life in prison.
Imagine that anybody could add that to your pills :) based on true story

Life in prison? This guy should be sentenced to death for what he did.

Isn't a life in prison better?
Sentenced to dead goes away quick meanwhile in prison you could be under 24/7 stress after while.

Scary to think about

All depends on how they kill you.
I agree with you in saying a life in prison would cause more suffering throughout said served time, but the people who commit acts this severe should not be allowed to see another day.
IMO They need to legalize more severe ways to inflict pain upon these insane psychotic criminals. A simple suicide pill/electric chair is definitely not enough to compare the suffering of these victims and there family. This will never happen though, for obvious reasons.

Every single time I see one of these threads all these retards replying how the murderer needs to be tortured to death.
These murderers are extremely mentally ill.
I would say these comments were justified if he tortured these people to death and did it for pleasure but he gave them a quick and painless death probably thought he was doing them a favor almost certainly not a malicious act.
