Ubuntu

Just installed Qubes. I think Im gonna switch back to Ubuntu.

I just installed Qubes and don’t like it as much as I thought in terms of what comes with it. I like U Ubuntu better.

Anyways, in the future I may get back to Qubes, but it doesn’t feel like a beginner operating system.

I guess I’m gonna go back to trying to repair Ubuntu with the touchpad issue which was only fixed temporarily.
Qubes is not a beginner OS but it is hard to beat Qubes for opsec (especially when combined with Whonix). just curious but what did you not like about it? just not user friendly?

whats the touchpad issue your having with Ubuntu?
I recommend Debian buster/testing with gnome over ubuntu any day. Fedora with gnome is also a great one with more bleeding edge software.
Pink Floyd is one of my many addictions. I'm sorry but I'm a free member and thus, I cannot give rep back to you kind folk who have blessed me with your presence.

My howto on Arch servers on ARM devices (samba/dynamicdns/staticip/vncserver/ssh)

It just isn’t user friendly. It’s really too boring of an OS and the command line felt impossible.

I’m gonna get Debian because it’s not gonna Break on me 24/7.
My recommendation try to start with Arch before attempting Qubes. Gives you good experience in this regard. In most cases Qubes is overkill but if you are really into privacy give it another chance it is quite good.
I ran Ubuntu for months but eventually got tired of the bloat of it all.
So I switched to Arch. Nothing better than building your whole OS.
It's a lot of trial and error and took me a few tries to nail it.
But that's the best part about it. You get familiar with what's under the hood.
Navigation, install, and many other CLI command information is learned you may have not know otherwise.
The only way to learn something is to submerge yourself into it.

I agree. Good advice. I will get a VM of Qubes at some point and play around with the settings.
