For example: I hardly use the marketplace or ebooks sections. I'd be able to expand the reach of posts I want to contribute towards by easily blocking the sections I never post in from "View New Posts" for only my account and mine alone. It never would mess with traffic that I know of. If I'm wrong please correct me, but I think that'd be pretty rad.

I’ve never used said feature so it doesn’t really affect me. I just go to the specific sections that interest me to post. New posts are already filtered to the top of those boards.

I wonder how many people use the view new posts?

I do constantly. but I'm also into a lot of things so I don't mind seeing the newest of everything.

I think what you're describing is actually already a feature. It's called "favorites".


Choose the subforums that you DO wish to see here:
https://hackforums.net/usercp.php?action=options

Then click the heart icon (the search favorites icon) and it will show the newest posts from only the sections that you've chosen as your favourites.

I don't use the feature of new posts but I know there are favourites that you can get and it pretty much does this for you.

edit - Also I only just seen the last posts. fml. oh well. I tried to help.
