So there are 4 nav items in header.
In order of appearance, the Favs, New Posts, Your Threads, and Your Posts.
The Favs is an upgrade feature which allows you to set forums to view new posts from. So for example you only want to see Marketplace Discussion, PSS, and RANF when you View New Posts then with Favs you can do that. The rest I think are self-explanatory.
I personally use Your Threads the most. From there that search result will show me any of my threads with new posts and I can click to immediately go to the unread messages.
But let's take a poll and find out what your most widely used Nav Item is for browsing HF.
I often use "Your Thread," and I believe the maximum active users would prefer to check their threads first. Although "Your Post" comes handy at times, but I never used Favourites or New Posts till now.
I've never used the "Favorites" features so far.

Thanks for that 🙂
How can I edit the categories of new threads shown by Favs ?
For example, not interested about Money, market, ... But want to show Tech, Hack, ...
Thanks 🙂
I'm pretty sure daily visitors excessively use "New Posts" . I'm one of them.

Go to: https://hackforums.net/usercp.php?action=options
Scroll down to the bottom and CTRL + Click to add multiple favorites. Now that we're on the subject, it'd be cool to favorite a forum area, kind of like subscribing to a thread.
Used to use the New Posts link but since the Favorites feature was added I've used that, really surprised to see it's not more popular

Doesn't Favorites and New Threads bring up the same page?
100% new posts so I can spam report on posts I need to, because I'm just a cunt like that.

"The Favs is an upgrade feature which allows you to set forums to view new posts from."
Ok Omni I take it all back, view new posts is in the perfect position as long as people know this info. The biggest concern with the view new posts was it had a bunch of forums people didn't want in there - such as ewhoring/marketplace/gaming,
I thought it was just for favorite threads/subscription type thing.
>>Still a little confused on how we add things to favorites. I'll look around.
After looking around, I still couldn't find where to add the sections. Checked the top of each section as well as individual threads and user CP. Right now favorites just does the same as view new posts.

Settings ~ Edit Options ~ Search/Add Favorites, at the very bottom took me a while to find too. After adding it I still only use view new posts though lol.
This is the original Favorites Feature release thread.

I think it's very misunderstood not widely used but it's an excellent feature. I was added because a lot of members wanted a way to view new posts but exclude sections like Lounge. So we made it, announced it, and hardly anyone really uses it. Sometimes that happens.
I use the "New Posts" and "Private Messages" the most. Overall, new posts probably a little more.
