I'm gonna start narrating audiobooks

Anyone else interested in doing this, check this site out: https://www.acx.com/help/narrators/200484550

You create a profile on the site with past experience (if any) and samples of your work.

Then you just look through the thousands of books that need narrating and make a sample recording.

"Search for books you're interested in narrating and producing, and record a few minutes of the manuscript. If you're the Rights Holder's top choice, you'll receive an Offer."

Anyways, I'm going to need to create a recording studio. Any ideas? Cheap mics to buy?

Cheers! 🤝

Thanks bro! I already have a sick mic, I'm gonna try this! Do they pay pretty good money?

Good luck man!

This is what the site says about pay:

"Choose a per-finished-hour rate, or choose to share 50% of royalties. If you're unsure, choose both."

Quote:When determining what rate to charge Rights Holders for pay-for-production deals, you should consider:

Your level of experience.
The amount of work that will go into your production (including script prep, recording, editing, and post production).
The cost of your equipment and or studio time.
The amount of time you'll dedicate to the production.
ACX allows you to contribute to AFTRA Health & Retirement with the following criteria: Pay-for-Production projects must be $250 per finished hour or greater, and Royalty Share projects must carry a $100 Stipend.

Most of the audiobook offers I was looking at estimate about 6-10 hours. So at $250 (or greater) per hour, you're looking at a couple grand per audiobook

Yeah I think it is a good mic.

Ideally I wouldn't mind this mic

I should do it too but got bit of an accent when pronouncing some words. I got RODE NT USB mic, it's used by a lot of Youtubers and Podcast runners. I can recommend. I have also used it for music.
