So as most of you are aware by now, we have a new mentions/tagging feature on HF! Something that was long awaited and is finally here.
I noticed that many users are finding trouble getting the grasp of it, so I figured I'd make a Quick Thread highlighting the uses and what each one does.
CURRENTLY, there are two ways of tagging a user. Now, each way will in fact tag someone, however if for some reason you want to mention your own username and you don't want to get the notification for it, use the [mention=UID] method and not the @username@ method. Using the @username@ method will in fact send you a notification if you tagged yourself, and the [mention=UID] method will not.
1.) [mention=UID] <-- replace "UID" with the actual UID of who you wish to tag.
2.) @username@ <-- same thing, just put the username of who you wish to tag. (easier, more convenient)
How it looks:
will turn into:
Cooligan
will also turn into:
Cooligan
I hope this thread helps and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
