So i just got sent a picture by my account i already didnt trust it but decided to open it anyway and nothing opened so now im pretty sure i am infected what can i do to double check?

1. Run regular AV Scans
2. Check your Appdata Folder / Startup Folder / Program Files for recent "Date modified" changes in file explorer
3. Scan the file on VirusTotal
4. Check running processes and end anything that looks suspicious but is NOT located in the System32 Folder /// Does not warn you about ending it
5. If you are really still paranoid, reinstalling windows is the best way to absolutely rid of something dangerous

Also take a screenshot of all your currently running processes and put it on imgur and quote me with it. Some things are particularly obvious to spot as fake. But I am no expert
