Can i make money by uploading music on youtube in 2019/2020?

I started a music channel in february 2017 but it went nowhere because i was very verbose with my music uploading and the path/direction of music genre was unclear, it collapsed. Now I would like to start a new channel in a very unique niche, very unique genre of music with aim to build a brand out of it, as a record label. But putting in so much effort and time and investment again isn't worth it if i cant earn from youtube ads. Can i still earn from youtube ads in 2019/2020 by uploading someone else's music (promoting artists)? Because ive heard lots of people complain about getting demonetized on all of their music channels because they're uploading music and youtube had put some strict regulations on music channels and this got me demotivated a lot... i dont know what to do
I'd say, if it's your own music, yes. If it isn't, then no.
Don't do it if it isn't your music. Get a keyboard and some images and make "hacker music"
If it's your music you will be able to monetize it no problem.

It's only profitable if you make your own music and put it on youtube. Or if you have a contract with artists to make music for you. However, even if this is the case you need to prove youtube that the music is legal because they have a bot that makes a decision and might mute your audio or take down the video itself. no music channel makes any more today off of youtube.

Youtube today is very hard to make any kind of money. The site is so saturated with people making difference types of  content.

What are you talking about, you don't need a music license

You cannot legally  post music on youtube that isn't yours and expect to get money from ads. that's just like downloading music and burning on cds and selling them. That's illegal.

Sorry I misread your reply, I thought you were saying you need a license for your own music.
Yes I think you would be able to but it would be hard.
You can make money for sure, but have a plan written down to know where you're going.
You can also use your Youtube influence to make more money with differents projects.
