Would learning web development better be done this way?

I think I can honestly learn web development for free right? Or could someone recommend an up to date web development Udemy (warez disallowed) course?

I think I just need help with knowing what to lookup in each phase but maybe learning by doing will work better than a course?

But I am concerned about learning correctly.

I need a web development framework that includes HTML, JS, SQL, and PHP. I need this in order to gain the prerequisites for basic web hacking because most websites use PHP but I need all four of those to start with. And I need the hands on experience of building a full-stack web application.

Either that or I could just look up things as I go along.

What would you recommend?

Thanks.
Not exactly, you can learn it all for free. IMO paying for a course for HTML CSS would be a waste of money. There is no sequence of languages you MUST learn, it all depends on what you are doing.

For front end languages like HTML, CSS and javascript I would suggest downloading a website template from a site (there are many around just google "website templates" ) and just mess with the files and try and create a custom website from that. It'll get you used to the syntax and how CSS and HTML is structured. Plus you can always implement and build on it.

Once you have a grasp of HTML and CSS and how it meshes together, try to implement javascript and PHP into it. There are a ton of resources online to help you out with building front end web apps.

As for the SQL and full stack applications, I would focus just on front end designs and such and only when your comfortable with that build stuff like databases and work with back-end development.

This is all my opinion of course but this is how I would go about learning all of it.

Allow me to put that to the test, will you? I'd be happy to see the code you're producing and offer you an opinion piece similar to the ones posted here and here.

Your suggestion may work for you, but should not be utilized by everyone. A degree still means much in this world, especially when it comes to your paycheck and design pattern knowledge.

That depends on the person. I major in Computer Science, but I still teach myself a good amount outside of class. You can't knock it till you try it.

I just practiced with everything I was interested in. Just never stop. PHP is a must.
