What are your thoughts on Telsa as a stock? Would you invest in it?

It’s quite volatile and personally I would not be comfortable holding it in my portfolio. I think I’d like to see how the competition enters the market and see if any of them become real competition in the electric auto space (which imo none of them are at the moment).
That being said investors with more risk tolerance may benefit from holding Tesla - if Tesla does maintain a leading position in the luxury EV industry I think they will be looked upon favourably by the market.
Something to think about though is that Porsche has just come out with the Taycan (quite an interesting vehicle), but I don’t think they have the ability to keep a low price like Tesla does.
Either way, I’m on the sidelines for this company. What are your thoughts on Tesla OP?
With Elon Musk outright stating he doesn't like those that short the stock ... and has even actively taken steps to screw over those that do, you cannot buy TSLA without knowing that the week-to-week stock jumps/dips don't matter. As Retrograde has said, if you have a lot of risk tolerance and are willing to "ignore" potentially losing 10% of your earnings with TSLA stock in as little as 1 day, only to have it go back up 3 months from now, then sure.
Most side-gig investors are not willing to invest in a roller-coaster like that. I love Tesla and what they do, but I love my money more hahaha.

Cool, thanks for sharing your opinion, SIM-1567847 !
I think Telsa is doing well, but to be honest, I don't invest much in stocks.

Nail on the head dude, it's really appealing but just far too volatile. If you're a super long term investor (think 10 years at least), then there's a point to be made for holding it - but will we even know how the competition will be in 10 years? I'd rather just hold an index tracking ETF.
People lose money in the stock market all the time (i.e. human emotions and trying to buy dips/sell peaks), and many of them lose money on "vanilla" companies..
Now introduce a company as volatile as Tesla, Beyond Meat, or Uber.. And god knows what will happen.
Everybody's money is their own though! So you do what you want. Just remember your reasoning if your buy-in goes against you.
