Microsoft Edge

The new Microsoft Edge based on Chromium is set to release stable on the 15th

You can see so here: https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/whats-next

I have been messing with it here and there with the beta release and I like it and as a Chrome user myself I think I will make the switch on the 15th when the new Edge released fully as it will remove the old Edge browser and personally I prefer less software installed and want a more smooth streamline approach which will have full integration with other Windows features.

What is your thoughts on the new Edge and are you going to make the switch as well?
Nice, that's good news for Microsoft Edge, making improvements!
However, I use Google Chrome now, and I don't plan on making the switch.
I am currently using Edge Canary and I really like it.
Is so well made that made me to switch from Firefox to Edge Canary.

I use Chrome as my main browser but I do mess around with Edge Beta

I am pretty certain I will make the switch. I hope people give it a try unless other browsers offer something that are must have's for them. Because this new Edge is actually very smooth.

Go to https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com that is an official website you can Google it if you want. Download the Beta and just give it a shot if you don't like it then remove it but actually be open during your testing don't let the bias get in the way.

This is nothing like the original Edge this is far from Internet Explorer however it still does have IE11 for people who need it.

This is one of those cases where Google's open-source work and TOS bit themselves in the ass. What you're saying about Edge was obviously what Microsoft intended to achieve by performing the switch. Not only will people be less likely to switch to other browsers, it becomes a rather dangerous and aggressive move because they might once again set the standard and we all know how well Microsoft is with those (just go back to Internet Explorer or Windows Phone to see an example of that). As Edge is the default browser upon a fresh installation of Windows 10, this change will likely cause less and less people to switch to other browsers.

Do note that Microsoft improving upon their browser's UX and functionality is absolutely fine and a good thing, but we're treading exiting and possibly dangerous times in regards to the browser landscape and I can see changes coming that will either benefit or split a community of software up once again.

I find this hilarious though: The early Windows 10 days users would get notified about decreasing battery performance by installing and utilizing Chrome as their default browser. Hypocritical if you ask me, Microsoft. That's why I don't trust them, that's why I run linux and that's why I use Firefox. Politics and ideologies.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to spread love and advertise how great Firefox is, they've had their share of fuckups:

...

What I'm saying is that I simply don't trust Microsoft to have any beneficial long-term goals for this project. Guess we'll see and time will tell.

2 more days and Edge Stable released.

I really wonder how many will switch.
