Minimalist living [ Could you do it? ]

Recently I've been seeing a lot of people pick up this lifestyle - working as little as they can so they can enjoy life and travel. Whether that be in a van, tiny home, sailboat, or just a small living space it's become a very interesting lifestyle that a lot of people have been watching online because they're interested in getting into this lifestyle. Do you think you would be up for something like that?
I would be really into that, if I wasn't born into this crazy, fast paced, go go go, business life. Been like that for years now. It's hard to say, but hopefully in a few years time, life slows enough to actually relax, not stress 24/7, not need phones attached at the hip etc etc.

That would really be nice.

Yeah I have an office job right now easy to stack money and enjoy the small things of life but I feel like i'm missing out a lot but I'm also going to school for Nursing so I can always work for a bit leave and come back and have a job.

Most sailboats have a restroom and are decent size, in my opinion, I don't think I'd be able to live on anything smaller than a 40' sailboat though. I'd love to learn to solo sail. Can't even imagine how it would feel to be alone and traveling across the ocean.

Yeah, that is a nice luxury to have. I'm a business owner, but with it only being myself and one other person, for the most part if I'm not here, no money is being made. Along with that, some clients require much of my attention, so leaving for weeks on end can be difficult. It's a damn double edged sword.

Do you mind if I ask the type of business I've had a small one when I live down in the keys cleaning boats and houses for real estate agents.

Commercial & Industrial Electrician. I do all kinds of electrical work really, try just to stay away from large residential work. Picky home owners like to change their minds a lot. When you say keys, I take it you mean Florida keys?

Yeah, Key West. My buddy does a lot of electrical work he's currently in the apprenticeship though but it sounds like an awesome gig grind and your earning potential is huge.
Ive had this in the back of my head for awhile now i think a portable triple axle tiny double glazed etc with all the luxuries and go minimal with the bed. Have a plot with a nice bedroom and deck to drive the tiny home upto.....

Yeah, earnings can be insane. I was very fortunate. Right places, right times. That's all it takes. We are a non- union shop, as the private contractors here are just so few and far between. At least any good ones. Give the customers what they paid for, be there when you say you are going to be there, and they return to you.

Running a business in a nutshell really :D

I could not live in a tiny house or anything of that nature its just too small and wouldnt like it!
I think it's the ideal mindset, yes. I don't like holding on to many things that don't improve my life either.

I actually am planning to do it eventually by either purchasing a prebuilt cabin to live minimalist or purchase a van and completely gut it and build my own interior.
I think I could do the tiny house thing for like a year or two
