How do I retrieve passwords from my own network/WiFi?

Hi,
I’m pretty new into “hacking”, and I’m wondering how to retrieve any passwords from people using your wifi/network. I’ve talked about with somebody who is pretty good and he said it should be pretty easy. Are there any tools/tips or information you can give me on where to start? I really want to learn this because this could have great potential.

Thanks for you help!
It's not that simple, I'll try to break it down a little.

You can't just sniff passwords from thin air, you'll need your victim to use an unsecured connection, you'll need them to log in while you are capturing the traffic (no point in capturing traffic when they're not sending any interesting data).

Might wanna look at Wireshark, you'll have to be a little more specific if you want any detailed explanation.
I've heard about wireshark, I'll into it, thanks! I was talking about people using my own connection at home, when somebody is using my network. I have full acces to it (obviously) so that shouldn't be an issue. I just want to test it out, seeing how it works. Thanks for your help man!
