Hey Y'all, I have no experience building computers. If i wanted to build the best gaming pc for the value how would i get started? I'd like to know the most up to date information so I dont waste my time on outdated technology. I'm looking for tutorials, deals on parts, etc;;

Probably the best way to learn how to build one is finding someone on craigslist or a similar website just make sure they have enough experience maybe ask for their employment history or a reference then ask if they can build it with you so you understand usually this would cost around 100 dollars for 1 to 1.5 hours. If you cannot afford that then I suggest watching recent YouTube videos published within the past 30 days.

I'd recommend photos of their work, your average joe is clueless when it comes to referring an computer guy. Most of the computer experts who I found that does it for a living have buildings looking like this

and think the solution to everything is reinstalling windows.
Then again I just summed up most of PCMR and HF.
You would want to visit pcpartpicker in my opinion to choose your PC parts.

First, make an estimate of your budget. Think it out, what you want the PC to be used for. Once you are clear, search on YT about a good setup and what hardware you need to buy. There are plenty of good videos on all kinds of setups. YT has been a lot helpful when I built mine. Once you have bought everything, assembling is the easy part. DIY is fun and you could ask here on HF or search if you run into something.

Step 1. Choose your budget.
Step 2. Define your use case (how you would like to use the machine, which games/software you want to run)
Step 3. Are you fine using second hand parts to save money.
Step 4. Buy the parts.
Step 5. Message me and I will get on video chat and show you how to do it as well as give you references to make sure you don't damage anything.
Step 6. Profit.
wrong form check the computers forum you'll get a lot of help there
What will you be doing with the computer? Gaming, graphics? Those things will help guide your choices

True. I guess infinite budget could get you the coolest stuff.
In that case, just sort by price on all components and verify they are compatible (Mobo with processor, ram, graphics)

Nah 15k would be enough for a beast build.

Yeah, this is great advice. Building a pc isn't actually that difficult, the research and thinking about what you want to use it for is more important. I bet there are a shizz-ton of really good up to date tutorials on youtube. I watched one that was really good, but this was in about 2012, so probably not quite up to date enough for your needs!

Thanks for the valuable input. I think i want the best gaming experience and graphics i can get probably mid level spending.
what it comes down to is this: In america we are getting stimulus checks, I'm aware of the fact that if i build a pc it will be better than buying the new xbox when it comes out. if i could build a pc for 1,200 that'd be ideal. also, the coronavirus will probably be a hurdle to getting parts.
If u dont have a clue there are 2 ways:
Computer guy YT channels - channels like this tend to regularly post videos of best builds for specific budget/use(and benchmark them typically).
2nd way is getting faimiliar with pc componente and current generations so u know whats good now and why
