Warning Forgiveness

During my years as a staff member, members complained that staff team issues a lot of warnings, especially me. We rarely pardoned members that violated the rules and only way to get the warning(s) removed was to wait it out. Today, we decided it's time to give everyone a chance. Thanks to Omniscient and Xerotic, they came up with the warning forgiveness plugin. Let me explain how it works.

When you get a warning you get a PM that contains a link to the quiz. You will have a certain amount of questions and you have to answer most of them correctly. Questions are multiple choice with 4 given answers so you don't have to type anything, just choose one answer you think it's correct. If you pass the quiz, your warning is removed.

Keep in mind that the questionnaire is available once per warning type per member. Next time if you get the same warning type, you won't get a quiz but you can see the quiz's results you did last time for that warning type. I urge you to take your time with the quiz as you cannot retake it. The number of total answers as well as number of correct answers will vary between warning types. To make it easier for you, just assume you have to get everything right. Besides, you'll get to know the rules better and it can impact your HF experience in a more positive way.

Currently quiz is available if you get a marketplace violation. We are looking to expand that to some other warning types but not all warnings will have the quiz. You don't have to worry about the difficulty of questions as I've designed them that all answers can be found in the Help Docs or that other answers don't make much sense. Basically your tool of answering questions is your understanding of Help Docs.

I'm going to update this thread once we add more quizzes. The list of current warning types is:
  • Marketplace violation.
  • Outside marketplace.
  • Disallowed Blackhat Activity.
  • Vouch begging.
  • Posting Etiquette.

If you have any questions or find any bugs, please post below. Enjoy.

EDIT: Please don't try to test it out as when you 'test' it out, there's no coming back and we aren't going to reset the quiz for you...
Staff member 10th Jan 2017 - 30th May 2020.
HF Administrator 30th May 2020 - 14th July 2022.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.

Peace out!
This will come handy for me.
It’s a great new feature really. Super innovative too.
Nice new addition. Will teach new members what and where to post. And would show if the rule was broken on purpose or not. Nice work Admins! Thank you!

Жизнь это не те дни, что прошли, а те, что запомнились
Great update, and congrats for being admin, youre just a staff the last time i submitted a report to you.
Very nice update. This is very useful. Can't wait to see this implemented through more sections.
Great addition. Seems like a lot of people will find it handy. Can't imagine the amount of work that must have gone into this. Xerotic has outdone himself again.

dude i totally wanna get warned to test out the system out.
Whitehat verified.
I understand that once you get one warning and you get another warning that is the same you won't receive the quiz. What if you have a warning from before this was implemented, and you get another warning of the same type? Will there be a quiz or there are no fresh starts?
How big is the quiz? Lemme test pl0x

After looking at my warnings and realize they all come from you, I love this idea!

Very nice addition i think this will be helpful especially to newer members that “forgot” to read the rules. And to help veterans understand what they did wrong to get banned.
It's really nice to see the forum take a more forgiving approach over the years. Keep up the good work

Never understood people who quotes the OP.
We assume you are replying to the thread starter if you do not quote anyone else.

Fun fact: Grim means ugly in Danish.
