DD minimum characters requirement

Let's see...

DD section sometimes knows to be full of new disputes but some of them are often invalid (either there was no scam or they are blank).

The first one can't be prevented because some people can't understand the basics of contracts and deal disputes.

The second one can be prevented, but not always. How? It's simple, by adding the minimum characters required to dispute the contract, the same requirement you need to make a post but in this case, minimum characters should be increased since scam occurred. 300 minimum characters would be ideal in my opinion.

What it can prevent:

✅ Lost newbies who click on everything expecting 2 BTC to pop out from nowhere.
✅ Multis who are disputing deals with vendors because they don't have a life.

What it can't prevent:

❌ People who will spam "ajdsjkcjx...", but if they do that, it's obvious they are trolling and everyone knows what comes next. 🔨
.
I like it I do see a lot of threads with any proof just simple opened dispute with Member UID & Contract UID.

It wasn't a big problem for me at the start, later it became annoying as fugg.

What stop multies or anyone else to generate lorem ipsum of 300 chars or just spam it all around? If this was going to be implemented, it wouldn't stop anyone. It would just give a seller a better insight what is the dispute.

Also, 300 chars is way too much, more like a 100. You gotta keep in mind that many (new) members aren't native English speakers so typing 300 characters is a like an essay and might discourage people to open disputes which is something we certainly don't want.

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.

Peace out!

Nothing, when it comes to them, it's not about prevention because you can't prevent that from happening, it's about their posting and behavior.
People who would do that are those who bought some shit E-book, started sales trashing, flaming everyone, got closed or banned.
They are impatient, it won't be hard to see their purpose, imo it's still better than "he scammed me", "do not deal with this scammer", etc.

Sometimes you need to place yourself in their position and think like them.

Let's say I know a few words of English and I need to make a post that requires 100, 200, or 300 characters.
I can't do it so what do I do?
1. I ask for help, either I ask a friend or an HF member (I've seen a lot of newbies coming to Convo for help when they get scammed).
2. Of all my friends, I'm the one with the best knowledge of the English language, but it still isn't enough. What is the next thing I do? I open Google Translate, write in my native language, translate it to the English, post it. It might not be the most accurate but it's still good enough to be understandable.

Also, I doubt that literally any character requirement would stop someone from disputing.
Let's be real.
When newbies get scammed, most of them dispute the contract because they expect their money to be back, not to alert the community of a scammer.
Those who are here for a longer period and can't pass the requirement will still use the option 1 or 2.

The main idea for this thread was to prevent blank disputes as they are annoying and can send away potential buyers from a good seller once they see an open dispute.

makes sense. Its too easy to submit a false deal dispute
Yeah good idea, personally think both parties have to mark the contract as complete before anyone can dispute

Also dispute should have to be looked at by a staff member before going through, and periodically checked if requested.. too many people have disputed against me, I refunded them or resolved it and they just left the dispute open

i had a few people start a dispute against a contract they never paid, just started a contract and disputed it, luckily I contacted staff and he got banned, was doing it to multiple people

Bad idea, sellers (scammers) can leave the contracts incomplete intentionally so buyers can't dispute it.

Staff's job is to not get involved when it comes to DDs.

If you can prove it, send a PM to the admins (O, X, E), not to staff.

I'm Stanley HF's helper bot. This OP (original poster) of this thread wants everyone to see this page and has elected to bump it to the top of the showthread listing. Since HF doesn't want a ton of LQP (Low Quality Posts) this is the best method of bumping your content. There is a small βyte fee for each bump. Any OP can bump any of their threads on HF from the linked icon on the top of their first post.

If you haven't already read the first post of this thread we encourage you to do so.

Thanks,

You can't do that. That's dumb. I sell you an ebook for $100. You send me the $100, I never mark Contract Complete and now you can't dispute for non-delivery. Did you even think for 5 seconds before suggesting that?

I have no plans to add required minimum characters. Suggestion DENIED.
