I am in college but want to get a better paying job while I attend college, so I'm going to get the Network+ and Security+. I know nothing about networks so I figured the Net+ would be a good start. I'm just going to do Cybrarys free 60-hour course on the Net+. Looking for all tips and advice, is the test difficult? Is Cybrary a good place to study it?
Update: I just realized you have to pay to use their course :/ Should I pay $25 a month or is there a better way to study for it?

Have you looked at the A+? I don't have the CompTia's N+ but i do hold the CCNA which was a little tough for me since i started from ground zero also and had 6 months to take the test before the curriculum changed in February this year. I took several online courses through Udemy (warez disallowed) also read the books. The best thing i did was enroll in a hands on course in a real classroom where a Network Engineer is the instructor teaching us real world scenarios in the networking field. So if you have some money to spend i would suggest enrolling in some classes and don't rush its a ton of information to take in. All well worth it.
the textbooks can be found for free, i know my friends studied all the requirements from said book

I wouldn't even bother with A+ in all honesty. Kind of a worthless cert for practical job purposes. Network+ and Security+ are good intro level certs.

Yeah I have a book on the A+ but I feel like I shouldn't even study for it and pay to get it. The job I currently have already has a lot of A+ type of work and honestly, the book I have is beyond boring.
The Net+ book I'm reading is more interesting.

Ah I have the book as well. I graduate in a year and wanted to get ahead on some certifications. A friend recommended I go for my A+ first and I bought the all in one. Pretty good book to be honest, I plan to take the exam in a few weeks and then work on another certification.
Are you using Coursera for Net+?

I'm reading Mike Meyers all in one book. I'm not sure if I should even waste my time getting the A+.

Now I'm reading over the A+ and some of it I don't know haha. I wonder if it would actually just be best to go in order, get the A+, Net+, and then security +.

May I ask why it is a waste time of getting the A+? Two friends of mine working IT both needed their A+ certifications for their work.
I also am going in order of A+, Net+ then Security+.
I also want to look into CEH as I may change my minor to Cybersecurity.

Reading over the book I already know a lot of it. Might just get my Net+ and brush over the A+ book.
