Undergoing a severe asthma episode

So, for the past 3 days my asthma has been causing me so many issues. Last night I was afraid I was going to end up in the ER because I couldn't get it under control, thankfully after doing 2 nebulizer treatments and using an albuterol inhaler, I was able to get it somewhat under control. But I went to the doctor today and they gave me a steroid shot and put me on oral steroids for the next 9 days. They told me if I don't improve in the 48 hours though that I needed to goto the ER.

I'm terrified of having to go to the ER though because of the whole COVID epidemic and the fact that I have an underlying condition (asthma) so it could be very bad for me if I caught the virus. Not to mention, since I need to take it easy because of the constant asthma attacks, I'm beyond bored.

You need to be more careful while youre on steroids mate. It tunes down your immune system so youll be more susceptible but dont let that stop you from going to the ER if you have any more bouts of it.

Yeah athesma isn't good man. It sounds like a serious athesmatic episode you had there.
Just make sure you're not blue in the lips or fingers after having athesma attacks and go to the hospital if it worsens.
I suggest getting an appointment with your primary in the mean time or call and see if you do a phone visits for meds.
I feel for you OP. I, myself, have some breathing problems and they really suck.

I pray you get better without having to goto the ER

how are you bored? I would just go to sleep and rest. Or play video games.

Thank you, so far no ER visits. I'm hoping to keep improving.

Are you prescribed albuterol? If not I would check into it.
