It's highly recommended to keep your posts in spoilers, but there is no way to enforce that since this is a discussion thread and anything goes. Don't get upset if you read something and you aren't up-to-date with the current episodes.
As for me, I shall use spoiler codes for the first three episodes. After that, I will not use the spoiler code anymore.
So far during the summer 2020 season, I have enjoyed what has aired, for the most part. The quality of the animation has been impressive to me. It's nothing special, and it's nothing I haven't seen before, and maybe it's a placebo effect, but for some reason, I feel like the quality is good this season. That is until you watch No Guns Life S2.
Sadly, I wasn't too happy with the start of the second season. On the good side, I was able to recall most of the first season, as it leaves off from there. You get a very small flashback, but it's not enough to make you remember the whole story if you forgot it.
That's okay though since I was able to recall most of it, including the characters. Apparently, the Spitzbergen what to obtain the data that Juzo has. Not only him, but other people are interested in getting their hands on it. The Spitzbergen has kidnapped Chris and Tetsuro and I am sure that Mary and Juzo will go after them and save them. If not, Tetsuro will use harmony to save him and Chris.
We meet Mary's sister who she mentioned she was looking for in the first season. He is an extended and he is working for the Spitzbergen. He has to be some sort of shot-caller or big guy in the organization because of how skillful he is.
I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the animation and look at the following pic below. Lol?

Did I make a thread for the first season? I feel like I did. If so, damn has time flown by.
Episode 2.
There are still many mysteries in this anime, but the good news is that we are unraveling the answers to some questions we might have had from the past episode or even from the first season.
We do not get to see Juzo save Tetsuo and Chris in this episode, but what we do get to see is more about Victor, Mary's brother. First, we learn that Mary and Victor were orphans. They ended up being fostered (is that the term?) to a man who ran some sort of technology or engineering company. Soon enough, Victor found himself working for their new father. Sadly, their father was a heavy drinker, and when he would get drunk he would get into these rages. So mad that he had the urge to hit his children. Now, we don't know if he actually hit Mary or Victor and there were no hints or implications he might have in the past. However, their father ends up dying while they are pretty young. It was hinted that Victor possibly killed him or forced their father to kill himself, but it wasn't confirmed.
We also learn that Victor and Juzo met in the past prior to everything that is happening in the second season. Victor was Juzo's personal assistant in treating him as an extended. I forgot what the term was. One day, Victor told Juzo to look after his sister Mary. Long behold, this is why he was protecting her so much in the first season. Of course, Mary was unaware of this until this episode.
Tetsuro is introduced to the leader or someone high ranking in the Spitzbergen organization, otherwise known as the group that are anti-extended terrorists. This means they do not take kindly to the extended and will of course as said they are terrorists so they'll kill innocent people to get their message across. It turns out, Tetsuro has helped them in the past and he is regarded as a high rank or high power within the group due to his "harmony" power. However, he has lost his memories and is unaware of this.
Finally, the action starts to pick up. Juzo will be fighting Victor in the next episode. For some reason, Victor has gone mad and he doesn't seem to be the Victor he once was. However, his request/contract to protect Mary is in place. I'm wondering what his true motives are. Because of this, the drama is starting to rise and so is the pace in the story. While this anime might not be the most entertaining, I do like its uniqueness compared to the other anime that are airing. Even the first season had this special vibe that I liked, despite it not being my favorite.
I'm not huge into cyberpunk-themed things but if you are, you might like this anime. Well, if you are reading this you most likely saw the first season anyway. Oops. I think it's odd though. What I mean by that is why are the Spitzbergen hating on the extended, when some of the people working for them have extended like features? Meaning, these weird abilities only someone with a "robotic-like" body would have, yet they hate them? I forgot if in the first season they explained that the members are made up of extended, half extended half-human, or they are just hiring mercenaries who happen to be extended.
Episode 3.
In Episode three we get a little more action finally. We even get to see Mary using Juzo's main weapon on his head and if you follow the series you know he doesn't let anyone use it anymore unless he really trusts you.
There was a lot of dialogue after the fight though. It wasn't the most exciting fight and we even got to see a very small ecchi, but a funny joke with Mary's rockets. If you've seen the episode you know what I'm talking about.
We learn that Lefty is being controlled by Victor. But how can that be if Mary killed Victor? It turns out, just like Tetsuro, Victor has harmony. I believe Victor was the first person to have harmony installed or whatever the heck you wanna call it in him. Victor explains that the Victor they killed was a doll being controlled by his evil side or side-brain.
At the end of the episode, we get a spooky cliffhanger. Looks like the dude that's trying to track Victor is going a little crazy and now Mary and Juzo are in a tough situation.
I am still sleepy, read title no game no life 2nd season and got so happy :''(
Episode four.
If you keep up with my discussion reviews, you know that I keep it real. Why wouldn't I? I think it's stupid to follow the "wave" or the "masses." Just be you. Especially when it comes to things you like. Where am I going with this? This anime so far has been very boring compared to the first season. It's way too much dialogue. Whether it's needed or not is another debate, but there just hasn't been that much exciting action for me.
In this episode, we got maybe a 5-minute fight scene between Avi and Juzo. While that might not be too exciting, as I mentioned before through dialogue we learned a little bit more about what's going on.
First, in the last episode, we learned that Victor has two brains or something like that. A sub-brain I think they called it. This is the one that is controlling all these evil extended, I think. At the same time, I think either the real Victor is dead or he is in isolation and just controlling the extended robots he has in his arsenal.
We learn why the Spitzbergen has Chris and Tetsuro as a hostage. Of course, Chris is a side character and a non-important one at that, he (or should I say she lol) has no significance at the moment, but Tetsuro does. They are holding Tetsuro specifically because they want to lure Juzo into saving him so that they can use Juzo to destroy another Gun Slave Unit known as Seven. I believe this guy is the one we met in the last episode that is partners with Pepper. Also, the ending theme now makes sense if you pay close attention to the first half of it.
The doctors or extended engineers were able to give Tetsuro's voice back, but even after doing that he still has control of harmony. I wonder if having his voice back will allow him to have more power?
Going back to the first paragraph, people are enjoying this anime. Both this and the first season are fairly low, however, season 2 seems to have a better rating. While looking at the discussion board on MAL, I find that many people are enjoying this. And so be it. Compared to overhyped sh*t like Tower of God and The God of Highschool I don't have anything to complain about.
This season is great.... ...
Episode 5
This episode was most likely a filler episode, but there was some information that is worth noticing. First, Juzo keeps saying that he sold the data regarding companies keeping extended research a secret and stuff like that, but Olivier believes that's a lie because he's trying to save Tetsurou and Chris.
In this episode, we meet a random man who we most likely won't see again who has a special extended ability. X-Ray. We got a little bit of fanservice in this episode, and it was so unexpected. But as a man who loves me some anime girls, it wasn't bad at all. Of course, it makes me a pervert lol but boys will be boys huh.
We can see some self-doubt in Juzo as he believes he's good for nothing, despite helping so many people. Maybe later in this anime, Mary will help him realize how much help he really is.
Tetsurou is seen at the end of the episode. He doesn't look shaken up, but I don't think he's the man he used to be after meeting with the people from Spitzbergen. I think something has changed and I believe Juzo is going to get himself involved.
Episode 6.
I wouldn't say this episode was much of a filler as the previous, but it slightly was. I'd say until the end, no information was actually important to digest from this episode.
First, we see Tetsurou struggling to hold his feelings in, as he isn't sure if he wants to betray Juzo yet. It looks like he wants to, but he is so hesitant about it, that I don't know if it's worth it. Clearly, to other people, Juzo is a threat and I find that interesting that people are interested in him to that extent. I guess because Gun Slave Units are so rare and unique.
In this episode, we meet a person named Theodore who renames to Edmund after an incident that happened years ago. He is looking for his partner, Five who was also part of the Gun Slave Unit like Juzo. To Juzo's knowledge, he is aware of who Edmund is talking about. I would say all of them know each other, but I'll go into that later. It makes sense that Edmund who was not an extended before the great war started was paired with a Gun Slave Unit, as Juzo was too. So it seems every Gun Slave Unit member had a human partner. And I know this because originally, I thought Five was Seven which I may have mentioned in the past episode. But it turns out that Seven is that one working with Pepper, who we met in the first season.
This part here interests me as Juzo tells Edmund that he had killed Five already. So I'm guessing we'll get an explanation of that in the next episode.
Also, I see Pepper and Seven in the character list so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw them again eventually. Heck, with how everything's going, if they bullsh*t the episodes as they do with shonen anime, this anime could even see a third season.
Episode 7.
Not the fastest pace series airing this season, and I usually find myself a little bit bored when watching this anime, but it's not terrible. In episode 7, we learn a little bit more about Juzo, and we also learn a little bit more about Spitzbergen.
We don't know if it's true or not, but Tetsurou was told by the leader that Juzo had killed at least 5 or more of the Gun Slave Unit members, as they became rogue. What we do know is that there are four Gun Slave Units left. One being Juzo, two are locked away in the extended prison, and the final one is seven who is working with Pepper.
I will be honest and say that since this anime is slow at times, I won't understand everything that goes on, but I think I'm in the right here, as we see Pepper at a meeting with those weird statues in Berühren tower with that overweight dude. She says they have something to do, so hopefully, this anime gets the action it needs.
Lastly, Tetsurou finally uses his harmony on Juzo. What he doesn't know is that the Spitzbergen leader guy has a special lock on harmony, which allows him to control when Tetsurou can be released from harmony. With that being said, they are going to take advantage of that and have him Juzo dissected or something while under the control of harmony.
Hope next week's episode is enjoyable.
Episode 10.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this episode. Lately, the anime hasn't done much to impress me, but this episode had some history and flashbacks on Juzo which I liked.
I felt like most of it was useless, and it was a blur, but the ending half after Tetsurou used Harmony on Juzo was great. I felt like they could have done a whole episode on Juzo's past, which would make this episode even better.
Anyways, we learn how Juzo killed off a majority of the Gun Slave Units that banned together and became outlaws. It was actually sad seeing him do this because I know that he felt betrayal within him. This was around the time that he was starting to think for himself, and he started to realize all the actions that have been done were because of him, not the ones pulling the trigger.
It's deep if you think about it. What makes it even sadder is how the troops treated Juzo like he was just a tool and had no feelings for himself. They were saying how disgraceful it was for him to kill off his "brothers," but if you think about it the military probably disposables of rogue troops too and it's done, of course, on their own country so it's a bit of irony and stupidity. But I know the dialogue was more for entertainment purposes and to put Juzo on a low stool, but still.
I thought the cliffhanger for this week was good and I am excited to see next week's episode.
