Quote:A girl inherits a company that is almost bankrupt from her late father. Lacking the funds, she must now become the producer herself in order to save the company from collapse.
During her work, she meets four boys—financial expert Zen, the idol Kira, police officer Haku, and leading neuroscientist Simon—and is suddenly involved with the conspiracies and mysteries over the existence of special powers known as "Evol."

It's highly recommended to keep your posts in spoilers, but there is no way to enforce that since this is a discussion thread and anything goes. Don't get upset if you read something and you aren't up-to-date with the current episodes.
As for me, I shall use spoiler codes for the first three episodes. After that, I will not use the spoiler code anymore.
I know that someone was interested in watching this anime. I was not going to watch it originally, and after reading the synopsis I wasn't going to bother, but I said F it.
If you don't like anime aimed towards a female audience, don't bother watching this. Thanks.
Episode 1 review:
I know most of you have not seen the anime "A3!", but that anime and Koi to Producer are somewhat similar. After reading the synopsis of KTP, I said to myself... "Hmm this sounds familiar." In A3, one of the main characters Izumi runs her father's old acting troupe. She has to run it from ground-up, finding actors to help her revive her company. If she isn't able to get a full house for her next show, the person who she is renting the theatre will kick her out and turn it into a mall or something like that. A3 was a fantastic anime, and because it was mostly aimed towards a female audience, I know most of HF never watched it. Hell, I'm probably the only one. The ending of A3, Izumi ends up getting the quota needed and she's able to continue the theatre troupe.
Okay, well how is that exactly related to KTP? In KTP, it's not so much of a happy beginning for the main character. We are met with Watashi. Her father mysteriously passes away. We don't know how but from Watashi's dialogue (which I think is a weird name to have -- Ah, it hit me, I'll go more into that later) she says her father mysteriously vanished through a warp-hole. Of course, that's totally weird coming out of the blue. This anime is supposed to involve superpowers, but the way they did it was randomly thrown into your face.
She is taking over her father's company, just like in A3, but her goal is to work with TV instead of acting. Watashi is the director for some TV show that showcases celebrities or something. We don't exactly know, but all the people she's interviewed to be on the show have been some "big-shot" in something.
We are met with four very handsome men. Zen is the CEO of a company, what we know about him is he can stop time, a very smart doctor, Simon, so his ability most likely has to do with intellectuality (we don't know what he can do yet), a J-Pop idol, Kira, who can bring people close to him (not sure what the hell that means) and Haku. We aren't introduced to Haku formally, but we meet him towards the end of the episode. He can fly. He works for an unknown company. I guess they are some sort of enforcement agency for those who can use powers.
Now, to get into why Watashi's name is Watashi, anyone who is studying Japanese or is a weeb know Watashi means "I" or "Me." Well, I already figured out this game is based on a phone game, meaning it's an adaption on a visual novel and "Watashi" is the main character YOU play as in the phone game. Makes sense. Of course, we'll be getting generic character names from the adaption.
There are still a lot of mysteries in this anime and I'll be honest and say I wish they had more information for us in the first episode. It was a bit rushed. However, the pacing was decent. Not too slow, not too fast.
Also, I'll say it now, the original game is mostly a "romance" game. I think an all-male cast and one female lead that you play is called an "otome game" where the main goal is to go down a quest path and choose which guy you want to be with.
From the tags is says romance so I'm expecting the boys to fall in love with her or vice versa, and it also says "shoujo" so I should have picked that up too before watching it. However, I don't care, I'll watch anime aimed towards a girl audience. Hell, I'm watching that Kyojinzoku no Hanayome show knowing what I was getting myself into. If you haven't seen Kyojinzoku no Hanayome and you are straight, please I beg you don't bother searching it up lol.
This was a rushed review, but information that will determine whether or not you'd like it is within the spoiler.
Episode 2
I was right when I mentioned that this anime was an adaption of a mobile otome game. However, I believe it's based on a Chinese one from what I've read in the MAL discussion thread. I'll say it again, if you aren't into anime mostly aimed for girls, you wouldn't like this. I'm not saying if you are male like me you wouldn't enjoy it, that's not the case. It's 2020, you can like whatever the f*ck you want. I'm not afraid of watching things aimed at girls. Sometimes those shows are very good.
Now, let's get into it. There are still a few things I am confused about when watching this anime. They are starting to get us more situated on the whole superpower thing. The first episode didn't do a great job explaining how the superpowers came to be. All we knew is certain humans could have superpowers. Then, we met all the main characters, or as I'm assuming in the mobile game, "the love interests" of the main character.
Everyone except for Haku, which in the anime is named Gavin in the subtitles for whatever reason, was not officially introduced until episode two, this episode. He is the one that can fly.
If you are watching via Crunchyroll, as I'm not sure if it's for other streaming services, the names are written in their English counterparts. For whatever reason, Simon's name is translated into Lucien, Haku's into Gavin, and I'm not sure about Kira and Zen, but I'm sure that they are changed too. Just a note if you are curious.
Watashi makes a deal with Zen after confronting him as we saw in the first episode, where she said that she will make her company more successful than his or something like that. He tells her the stuff she needs to do for him to continue supporting the show with his funds. In this episode, we watch Watashi knock out the first step. She has Simon on the show. Simon is the super-smart scientist. We don't know what his powers are, but he is definitely an "evolver." I believe he can teleport or a fast way of transportation, maybe running fast, since he knows so much about black holes and "theories" behind fast travel.
During the show, we officially meet Haku and it turns out he is Watashi's senpai from high school. Out of everyone in the show so far, he has shown the most romantic interest to her and it's obvious through an omniscient point-of-view. He's part of the police and he has created a special task force to help evolvers who may have committed a crime or are targeted by an evil company I'll discuss soon and keep them under police protection.
Watashi and Haku are looking for the kid we saw in the last episode that was running away from some sketchy people. He asked if Watashi could listen to his story, and before getting caught he teleported them both away from the area.
In this episode, they are hunting for him because they are trying to protect him from the evil company that I mentioned. This company is called Black Swan and not much is known from the two episodes. All we know is a bunch of henchmen in black suits is after this boy. I believe this group uses captured evolvers and they conduct tests on them. I'm wondering what their goal is.
During one scene where the police show up, a bunch of squad cars was there. What interested me the most was the usage of English voice chatter, rather than Japanese. So, with the English names being used in subtitles, it might be safe to say that this anime takes place in an English speaking country?
One thing I liked about this episode was when Watashi and Haku were on the motorcycle, the producers put in a small detail that I always look out for. When driving a car in anime, you'll notice that the gear shifter is either an automatic car or a manual transmission. And I'll notice if it was a manual transmission, they never shift. The only anime I've seen so far that does that is Nami yo Kiitekure. However, I'm sure racing anime like Initial D goes hard in the panning on when characters shift their cars. I understand Haku is on a bike and most of the time they are manual, but there are some automatic ones right? Anyways, usually with bikes too, the animators don't go through the process of animating the shift and I thought that was cool. The CGI and the animation itself wasn't special, but that small detail was cool.
In the end, we see that Simon is neighbors with Watashi. Well isn't that weird! I wonder what is going to happen in the next episode. Are we going to leave off in awkward silence?!
This anime has some pretty good pacing. The episodes go by fairly fast, however, like I said some things are confusing and I still think things need to be introduced to us to fully understand what the hell is even happening. Even though it's fast past in terms of you can watch this and it feels like it was over in 10 minutes (I usually judge an anime on the positive side if it's like this) rather than it's so slow you feel like you're watching a 40-minute anime, I feel it lacks in the story itself.
Episode three.
I enjoyed episode three of this anime. I thought that it was cute. Before I get into the review, I just want to talk about one thing about the main character. Although we still don't know what her name is, as I mentioned in the first episode discussion post I created, her name is Watashi, also meaning "I" or "Me" in Japanese, which I'm sure if you are a die-hard weeb you already know that. I think she's an okay character. She's nothing special and doesn't stand out that much out of the female leads in the anime that are airing this season, but after looking at what is airing I'd say she's up there in the top 5. There aren't that many characters this season that I'm woahing over.
For the previous episodes before this one, I didn't think anything of it, but her clothing isn't that cute. For an anime aimed towards girls, I feel like they are lacking in the fact that Watashi isn't "Kawaiied out" (God that was awful to say I'm so sorry) as let's say Chizuru from Rent-A-Girlfriend who has a whole set of different clothes she wears on the date she goes on. I just feel Watashi is lacking. However, from the preview for the next episode, she looked cute!
I don't watch too many reverse harems and this might even be my second third one watched ever, but I must say it feels a little weird. I am happy there is no ecchi aspect to it. Obviously, it has to do with my preference for things. Seeing a bunch of girls seductively lush over a guy in a normal harem anime I'm used to because what guy wouldn't want that, and when watching the reverse harem, I do respect that the men aren't doing anything crazy and are just handsome. It's not logical to say that girls aren't as perverted as men, but I will say that I respect the direction of how this anime is going. They could easily make this just as perverted as a regular harem.
This episode we get more of a focus on Kira, the idol. We also get to see the other three boys, Simon, Zen, and Haku. Watashi is trying to come up with an idea that can be used for their next show and Zen, the CEO of the company funding Miracle Finder isn't happy with the suggestions that Watashi and her company are coming up with. Watashi goes back to her company to brainstorm with her co-workers and they come up with an idea to have the idol Kira do a review or some sort of story at a specific restaurant that is known for good food, but the service from the owner is terrible as he'll kick you out if he likes you, even while you are eating.
Kira's manager sais that if Watashi can get permission to record a documentary there, Kira will be allowed to participate. For about four days, Watashi tries to get the attention of the owner and finally is let in after one of the head waiters arrives and invites her inside. From there, she asks if she can do a documentary on the store and the owner refuses. Stuff goes down, she learns a life lesson, blah blah if you watched you know.
We learn here that when Watashi was younger she was kidnapped and she has no memories before she was five. This might have to do with Black Swan and the disappearance of her father.
Kira is unaware that he is an evolver. He and Simon are the only ones who we have no idea what their abilities are. However, we learn at the end of this episode a little bit of what Simon can do. In the episode, Watashi gets another weird dream and it just so happens that just like the first it comes true. There are two things that come to mind. One is that Watashi is an evolver herself. Two, Simon is doing something to control her memories. He lives next door to her now and we learned that he just moved in yesterday (to us that means in the last episode) and he might be using his powers to influence and control reality. With how he is a smart scientist and knows so much about theories it would make sense.
In the final few minutes of the episode, Haku appears out of nowhere making Watashi's second dream come true, meaning my theory might be right. Before that though, if you took a look at the fireworks you could see that they were slowing down in Simon's point-of-view. This doesn't exactly tell us his powers, but as mentioned he might have the ability to control time, however, differently than Zen who can just freeze time.
Haku says that Simon isn't a good person and then we are left with a cliffhanger after a gunshot goes off. Interested in seeing what happens in the next episode!
Episode 4.
Before I even watch the new episode that airs, I wonder if I'm going to like it. Usually, I start watching the episodes of anime I dislike first, that way when I'm exhausted I don't watch things that want to put me to sleep. Trust me, trust it.
Anyways, I was surprised by how well I enjoyed episode four. Every week we learn new things and this episode really took me by surprise. There was so much new information learned.
First, we learn that Kira is known as the apprentice to the famous hacker known as Key. After his master disappeared 17 years ago, he recently took on the name in homage of his master. This was definitely a surprise to everyone. Who would have known Kira was a hacker. He and his master expose evil corporations.
Before I get into that, the beginning was a bit weird. We leave off where Haku and Simon were at the park with Watashi. Haku ends up shooting Simon, but it turns out Simon isn't his target. It's someone we never have seen before, but it looks like Kira, except I believe his hair was a little bit of a darker blonde. I'll go more into this later!
We also learn what happens to Watashi's father. He was a target of Black Swan. Additionally, we learn that Kira and Watashi knew each other from a young age, and just like Kira, they were stuck in a lab for their early childhood. If you remember from the last episode they were together, she says that she doesn't remember her early childhood because she was kidnapped. This was probably around the time her father was killed after finding out about Black Swan.
I might have said it in past discussions, but I believe that Watashi is an evolver too. Her ability is one that allows her to see the future in her dreams, which we know might be possible since she's guessed the future many times, and this time it even saved her and Kira's light. Additionally, we learned that Kira's ability allows him to "charm" anyone he sees no matter what, which makes perfect sense that he's an idol. I had a feeling it had to do with popularity, it was the only thing that it could be. Him being a hacker is not an evolver ability, because I'm sure anyone can hack, but as I mentioned, he says that his special ability is to charm people.
I think that even though we saw Simon's ability, he is the only one we have not seen their ability to the fullest or explained one bit, but maybe we'll learn more about him eventually. Out of all the men that Watashi has met, I think Kira is the most suitable for her. Haku is a runner-up, but I think he's a little too cheesy. Maybe in the next episode, I might change my mind about him because it seems we get to see more of him with Watashi. Simon's fishy so far since we don't know much about him and I am not really a fan of Zen.
Before the end of the episode, when Kira and Watashi are in the control room, a video is shown in addition to the photo of her father saying that he was eliminated. It shows a video of Kira and Watashi when they were young and in some sort of lab.
Then, after that, we hear some dude we've never seen before talking to someone else saying that "the queen" is going to awaken (meaning Watashi) which tells that Watashi might be the very first evolver and she has the strongest ability out of everyone, but her powers aren't fully activated. The person we never have seen before then says to the person he's talking to that it's time to fetch his sister. Since they don't look alike at all (this is an anime though, we know siblings might not always look-alike) I'm wondering if they are genetic siblings or since they were in a lab together they are just labeled siblings.
Now, the guy that he's talking to looks like the person that was at the beginning of the episode where Haku shot randomly to spot someone.

No one noticed this in the MAL discussion thread and I'm glad I was able to pick up on this. I'm not sure what his purpose was with the rifle, as we learn in the end their goal is to retrieve her.
Regardless, we are introduced a little bit more to Black Swan. I am interested in seeing what happens in the next episode!
Oh, and Watashi looked cute in this episode, but I think they could have done a better job. 😋
Episode 5.
I'm really surprised by how much I like this episode. I do like it a lot. I will admit that it may not be the greatest anime this season, every time I watch it I'm surprised with how well the episode went. I wouldn't say this episode was too rushed, but it felt like it somewhat. However, the ending of the episode made up for it.
Kira and Haku have been getting a lot of time in the light in terms of how many episodes they appear in. We don't see Simon or Zen that much and I am glad that in the preview for the next episode, we'll get a change of pace and see what Simon is all about. To be honest, I was so confused when I heard his voice in the ending preview. I had no idea who it was, that goes to show how badly he needs to appear more.
Also, it was very small too but we got to see a little bit of Zen's life too. It is good to know that he is aware of the evolvers and he is possibly trying to find out more about Black Swan too. it seems that all the evolvers have some relation to them and all the boys that are the main characters have run into them at least once.
I thought this episode was cute. Although Haku doesn't really come off as a creep, I feel like he is super obsessed with Watashi, which makes it a little weird. I did find it cute that the bracelet he gave her doesn't actually have a GPS in it and it's a small gift. However, it is a bit weird that the "wind" is the actual GPS, and allows him to find her. It makes sense since his abilities are like superman, but I am not sure where the "wind" comes in. I guess the smell of her body?! EEK!
I've always liked romance anime and I don't watch them too often as I'd like. I think I found a new liking though in the romance genre. I like how feelings are being shown but no one's getting hurt, there is no harem (even though it's technically a reverse harem, I'm sure some of them like Watashi besides Haku) and overall it's a happy atmosphere. I'm sure in slice-of-life anime where there are drama and stuff adds to the story and I am sure I'd like to, but I'm really digging this style!
I mentioned early that the story felt fast and that's because we meet the person at the end of episode 4's preview. Seeing him was useless and I also don't like the voice actor they chose for him. I sound sexist, but choosing a female wasn't the best choice for that character IMO.
Anyway, he dies and it seems because his power was out of control. Did Watashi have something to do with it? It sorta hinted that she might have. In the last discussion, I brought up that she might be an evolver too, which she probably is since we know she was kidnapped by Black Swan when she was younger. We know she can see the future, but was everything that happened on the rooftop because of her hidden powers?
Lastly, we see a small flashback of Zen and Watashi when they were children. This is where I got the idea that they are all connected because everyone was kidnapped (we know Kira and Zen were -- def not Haku) and taken under control of the Black Swan organization.
Episode 6.
This week's episode was mostly dialogue but we learned a lot. I didn't feel like it was a filler episode because like I said, we learned a lot in this episode, but it also felt like one in the beginning half. In this episode, we focus more on Simon and Watashi. Zen and Simon are the characters we don't know too much about, but in terms of their powers, Simon is the only character we don't know what his evolver powers are. Well, in this episode, we learn it!
Simon and Watashi go out in the countryside to spend the day off together, as Watashi's co-worker went to him to let him know that she is working too much, and she needs a break. To us at the beginning of the episode, it looked more like a date than anything, but after watching the episode we learn that is not the case. It turns out that Simon, just like Zen and Kira, both met Watashi when they were young.
We see through Simon's evolver powers that he can cause people to have flashbacks? I guess is the best way to describe his powers. He was able to put Watashi asleep and show her memories of her past. This does make sense since he knows so much about science and I've said it before. My guess was he could travel in time. I was sort of correct I suppose.
During the flashback, we see that the younger Watashi who was 5 years old can make her dreams come true. We should have already concluded that Watashi is an evolver to considering whenever she dreams something it comes true, well it's confirmed in this episode.
In the flashback, the younger Watashi says that she never sees Simon again and I wonder what this means. It most likely has to do with Black Swan though. Also, we learn that Simon and his parents were in a car accident. Both of them died, but he survived. Black Swan was able to make it to the scene and for whatever reason kidnapped him and tested on Simon. Simon was the first evolver.
As a result of becoming the first evolver, I guess since it was their first experiment, there were some side effects. Simon is color blind, as we saw a short glimpse early on in the episode, and then we confirm it later in the episode, and he also has his feelings/emotions removed or something like that.
This is until he sees Watashi that one day I believe in the first or second episode. It turns out that he can see her color and her color alone. Which means she is the key to something? Anyways, of course, I look at it as his symbol of loving her because this anime is about a reverse harem.
Towards the end of the episode, we see that Simon is still part of the Black Swan company and his goal is to unlock her memories for whatever reason. There is something about Watashi that everyone wants. I guess her ability is the best out of everyone? I have no idea what sets her apart from everyone else.
Lastly, Haku meets with another evolver who is working with the Black Swan company and he is told that the enforcer group that Haku is part of is not who they say they are. They are "executioners" so all the people that went into their custody have gone missing, and he confirms this after going into the police computer.
It was an interesting episode so I am excited to see the next one as we get a small clip of Watashi getting news that their company will be working with a company called HBS in America. It turns out the person that got that plug was none other than Zen and that makes sense since he was in New York in the previous episode.
At first, I thought it was the Black Swan company behind this show, but it is Zen, so I have more faith in it as I know Zen is on the good side.
Episode 7.
The animation in terms of how the characters mouths were moving, as well as the animation in general in terms of body movements was a bit bad in this episode. At times, it felt like animation out of a visual novel. Meaning, it flowed differently. I don't know how to explain it. If you have wallpaper engine, and you have an anime background with movement, it's something like that.
This anime has a low rating of a 6 as I write this. I think that's a justifiable number. I'm most likely going to rate it at that too, but for now, I am keeping it unrated.
In this episode, we focus more on Zen as it was finally due that he got an episode where we learn more about him. He accepts the HBS contract with Watashi, but it turns out it was a trap. They lured both Zen and Watashi in the old facility they were both held when they were young. Here, Watashi was able to regain her memories. Does this mean that her powers have finally awoken? I'll go into that later!
Zen may be a bit harsh, but in the end, just like everyone else, he has strong feelings for Watashi too. I'm not sure what it is that made them all like her, despite them all growing up together, I still don't understand it, but it was nice to see Zen more on the kinder side in this episode. Usually, he calls Watashi a "Baka" and tells her that she needs to improve whatever proposition she's trying to come up with.
In this episode, it was all love and support and it was nice to see that side of Zen. While escaping the HBS facility, Zen's powers activated more than usual, and we learn that he can create black holes. After telling this to Watashi, she explains that she met someone else that experienced this weird change in power. This could mean that everyone else can become stronger if they are triggered in some way.
The preview for the next episode has us seeing Haku in some sort of fire, where he potentially dies. What makes this interesting is the usage of room 404. There can be two things that make this interesting. The first one being error 404 when you can't access a website. I know that sounds weird, but considering it means in easy terms "Not found" it could have something to do with not being found. Now, that doesn't make much sense, but what I'm going to tell you next might. My small theory is that it involves the number 4. There are two readings for the numbers 4 and 7 in Japanese. For four, it's "yon" and "shi". Shi, although having a different kanji when used this way, can also mean death. Additionally, seven can be read "shichi and "nana". Shichi, when used as a different kanji than seven, means "proper place to die" or "the point of death". In modern-day Japan (I don't know if this is still true), many apartments avoid the usage of number "4" or "7" in the room numbers. If there are four floors, they won't say that there are four floors either. Pretty interesting!
So anyway, now that I brought it up, considering that Haku may potentially die, this room number might be a foreshadow that no one is even thinking about, which might be interesting to some people!
