Hey everyone, i mentioned in a previous thread "Full internet bandwidth usage" a problem with my internet bandwidth being fully used by some process which i was able to identify using netlimiter thanks a suggestion from someone here, and i'm really grateful for that, i turns out it's internet download manager, this happens when i start downloading something, i sadly have a 2 Mb connection, so the download speed should be around 200 to 250 KB/s, which isn't the case when downloading with IDM, it falls to about 100 KB/s, ironically even when i cancel or limit the download using idm interface, it still shows in netlimiter and also task manager that it's using the full bandwidth, so it's really necessary to kill the connection to even connect to this forum properly, and it's really annoying, i uninstalled it using iobit uninstaller, took a lot of time to search the registry and manually delete every single key associated with it, and even ran the commands sfc /scannow and chkdsk to make sure that system files are okay, unfortunately my efforts were all in vain, i'm too lazy to reinstall windows just to fix this to be honest, sorry for the long thread, and i really appreciate any help

If the problem is about the download speed mate, its not fair to blame IDM. Download speed can be affected also by the server the file coming from. Even if you have a high speed connection if the server is slow, it might be the problem. And then about deleting registry in windows I recommend you to used ccleaner. Or uninstall a software fully with apps called Total Uninstaller.
The LORD is my strength and shield.

Netlimiter shows the full speed (from 200 to 250 KB/s, i know it's shameful) however, and this happens to every single download, even youtube videos, whose server's speed are really out of the question, one more thing, this doesn't happen if i don't use idm (for example if i use chrome built-in download manager), it's pretty much clear that it's the problem at this point, i already took that into account, thanks for the reply nonetheless |
