Does being fatter increase severe COVID-19 risk?

It seems like it does, and theres more evidence pointing in that direction..

Thoughts?

Yes it does, many docs have said this already
I thought this was obvious in a way... Obesity and heart disease kills a LOT on its own, if your healthy you'll be able to fight any disease better.

It's obvious to me, the more weight and fat you are, the more unhealthy you are and the weaker your immune system is, blood pressure etc. which is means your body is at disadvantage when fighting sickness.
I would imagine that it would, being that the person may have underlying conditions from obesity, increasing risks from covid.

Just a guess, I don't think any of us really know what's going on
I think this is actually true for Covid19. Ive talked to a couple of doctors working in ICUs and what they told me was that they noticed high mortality rates for 3 types of people in the following order: Diabetics, obese and overweight people and finally bald ones.

I think researchers are rushing their data finding projects coz of obvious reasons during this pandemic and a long duration cohort trial with a big enough population (and other appropriate conditions) would be best to gather such data but thats not doable under the current circumstances.

yes i see fat people sweat over a small stair, which is really sad.
but natural selection will strike anytime soon.
Yes, it does, and I believe that this has been confirmed quite a while ago too. It's quite saddening seeing fat people sweat each step they take.
Only a proof that obesity is a real problem and that people should try to get in better shape (myself included)

Yes this oncrease the risk and any other disease also increase the risk
It seriously depends. The more fat you have the lesser immunity (in most cases), thus resulting in serious no recovery from covid 19 by yourself.
Everything that makes you unhealthy can increase the risk of any disease, same with SARS-CoV-2.
They say they discovered that tall people have twice the chance to get infected by covid lol

Wait what, the chance to be infected? Don't you mean chance of dying or something?
