What to pick (mobo/cpu combo)

So here I am once more with a "what to pick" question. This time I have 2 motherboards each with their own CPU's 'attached' to them. I only have one case so can only have one rig... Both have their perks, AMD is easier to upgrade in the future since it comes with an AM4 socket however the Intel 'version' has 8 RAM slots (and I have 6 (8Gb) sticks in total) so I can push more RAM in to it and it also comes with more cores and so on.

Intel i7-5820K + MSI X99S Gaming 7
Cooling: Noctua NH-D14

AMD Ryzen 1300x + Asus Prime B350-Plus
Cooling: Wraith PRISM
I have AMD and I like it way more and AMD is a little more bang for your buck imo. I have a Ryzen 7 1700x which goes for about $400. I also have a GTX 1070 gpu and I can run most games on high settings. Actually pretty much every single game out there. Good set up in my opinion and doesn't run you to to much.

Well yeah, more bang for the buck for sure, but the thing is, I already have all those parts. They will be combined with a MSI RX 5700XT and 32Gb(AMD) or 48Gb(Intel) of 2666MHz RAM.

Okay, here's the deal, if you're not planning on upgrading the cpu any time soon, and you're only gonna use this computer for gaming, i'd say go for the intel platform, you'll also benefit from more ram, not that you'll need that much for gaming, but when it comes to ram, more is better, one more thing to keep in mind, ryzen 4000 series are coming and i don't think that they'll be supported by the b350-platform (i might be wrong however), so the b350-plus currently in your possession won't make any sense when that happens, and they'll obviously be more powerful than the 3000 series, with better value, if you are planning to get a better cpu in the near future however (and i mean one that outperforms the i7-5820k of course), just go with amd, there are plenty of really good amd chips, and at the end of the day, as long as you have both motherboards, you won't find much trouble switching between them

I actually also doubt that the B350 platform will support nay of the new stuff, even tho, the only plans that I have on an upgrade is complete with a new motherboard too once I get around to it. Wouldn't mind having WiFi integrated on the motherboard so that I would free up one PCIe slot.

So yeah, went with the Intel build and clocked it up to 4.2GHz. However I only have 32Gb of RAM on the board now since I decided to sell the Ryzen mobo complete with RAM and all to a friend of mine :)

My point exactly, you'll get plenty of new features with a new motherboard, including PCIe gen 4, anyway, 32 gigs of ram is plenty for most workloads, especially if your main focus is gaming, it's more than enough, so you don't really have to worry about this
