So, two days ago I got EAC banned on Rust for an unknown reason (I think it was Logitech Software related, but I wasn't using scripts or anything of the sort). I have since submitted an appeal, and since I know I wasn't using any cheats, I'm fairly certain I'll have my account unbanned eventually; however, it said it could take anywhere from 3-14 days to get back to me on my appeal. If I were to purchase the game again on another account, remove my Logitech software and play, would it jeopardize my chance of getting my main account unbanned?
My steam level is 104, I've never been banned for anything before, and I have 1500 hours on the game so I'd like to keep the deck stacked in my favor if that makes sense. I'm going to assume this is all a false positive, but I've heard my fair share of horror stories about people getting banned and denied when they didn't cheat. I'm also certain that a fair share of those horror stories are liars trying to work the system so I'm remaining optimistic about it.
So, with that said, is buying the game again going to reflect poorly on my main account being banned (same ip, I'd probably gift from my steam balance on my main as well)? I know I run the risk of my second account getting the same flag and banned as well, but I think it's either the Logitech software or my keyboard software so I'll get rid of them both. Both were open when I last played the game and I recently installed them as well.
I was going to ask on Reddit, but everyone seems to jump to the whole "OH YOU'RE BANNED SO YOU MUST HAVE CHEATED!!?!?" type of hive mentality and I don't care to deal with that. If you're going to say the same, I don't care to hear your reply.
Thank you!
