I'd recommend trying to USB boot Kali linux onto your CB and watching some youtube tutorials based around hashcat, aircrack and the other baseline tools. If you're looking into webapp testing check out resources like OWASP, Portswigger and Pentesterlabs. as chromebook works on android, you should look into android rat for this.
I have a chromebook and it allows me to use the Beta debian penguin linux. So you should be able to disable os chrome and install that Beta version of linux. It's not the best, but if you put in the key search you'd like with the terminal saying it like so... Sudo apt search [Keyword] ... Then you should be able to find what you'd like to use. The fact that you want to password crack though might be little bit more difficult, but it can be done. Also Wireshark is a good way too if you're trying to get ips from the packets coming into your router.
