You might have noticed that for the past month HF has not had many feature updates.  That's because our main focus has been building a native App for HF.  We will be releasing a beta within the next couple weeks both an Android and iOS store app.

The focus of the app at first is going to be notifications and Convo.  Without an actual app on the iOS we can't do notifications thus we are forced to make at least that app.  And we love Convo and want more users to adapt it as their main communication method of HF.

That's what we hope. Currently our mobile device usage is low for iOS probably because we don't yet have an App. And our mobile usage is about 30% which we can certainly increase.

I had to make a mobile app for one of my IRL projects for that same reason. I was wanting mobile traffic but wasn't getting it, once there was an app in the app store, mobile traffic increased by so much that I stopped even updating the website and only worry about the apps now, haha.

I'm excited though, and I'm sure this is pushing it, but Giphy offers a really nice and easy API and it'd be really nice if users were able to send GIFs like in Facebook Messenger over HF convos. Not sure on your take but it'd be a neat little feature.

I’ve thought about Giphy personally and think it would make a pleasant addition to the app, but it’s not a priority or even discussed yet. Concept is to make the convo feel really GOOD in the app.

Giphy would be a really pleasant addition to the app and the API is extremely easy to use, I was kind of surprised how straight forward it was while I was using it.

It's also my favorite way of ignoring someone when they message me. Instead of leaving them on read, I just send them a vague GIF. 🕵️

I may be pushing it yet again, but are read receipts going to make their way to HF convos eventually?

I have considered doing more gif's. I have yet to discuss it with Xerotic though. He's been busy enough. We'll get there. I don't think it's important on day one.
