Hey guys,
I'm looking to upgrade my current PC build to something better but I'm not really sure what to go for.
I built my PC back in 2015 so it's obviously not performing like it used to back then as games are evolving. I'm looking for a build that will run pretty much any game, I don't have a budget but obviously not something stupid.
Do u think I should change my whole build or part of it.
I was thinking of purchasing GeForce RTX 3070 Graphics Card but I'd have to change
couple things in my build as it's pretty much outdated. Thanks guys.
Here is current list of my build:
- Corsair Builder Series CXM 750W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU
- Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black
- Asus M5A99X Evo R2.0 Motherboard (AMD 990X/SB950, 4x DDR3, S-ATA 600, ATX, PCI-Express 2.0, USB 3.0, Network iControl, Windows 8 Ready, Socket AM3+)
- AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor (4.0/4.2GHz, 8MB Level 3 Cache, 8MB Level 2 Cache, Socket AM3+, 125W, Retail Boxed)
- EVGA CLASSIFIED Gaming Graphics Card (6 GB, GTX 980, PCIe 3.0, 7010 MHz, GDDR5)
I'd suggest upgrading your CPU, which also means a new motherboard, new RAM and probably a new CPU cooler.
Exactly as Breeze26509 suggested, you'll have to get a whole new system, just specify the maximum amount of money you'll willing to spend and me or someone else in the forum would gladly help you
I figured I'd need new parts for all that as it's pretty much outdated, was OG back in 2015 but not now. xD
I currently don't have a budget but I heard the 3070 is a really good card.

Okay, since you don't have a budget, there you go, but keep in mind that prices of both the graphics card (rtx 3070) and the cpu (ryzen 7 5800x) aren't calculated because they're probably out of stock, the overall price would be about $2184, let me know if it's too much, since you want an rtx 3070, i acted accordingly in order to avoid bottlenecks, one more thing, as for the cpu, if you don't want to wait for the stock to refill (if you can't find one that is), you can replace it with ryzen 7 3800x or a ryzen 9 3900x if you don't mind the price difference between the two, and for the graphics card, you can also wait for radeon rx 6000 series from amd if you liked them, they'll be released in Novermber 18th and they look promising, and according to first party reviews, you get other benefits by pairing a cpu from ryzen 5000 series with a graphics card from the rx 6000 series such as Smart Access, good luck.

Keep in mind I already have most parts like hard drives, SSD, case so I wouldn't need to completely rebuild my build.
I just want to change my ram, cpu, mobo and graphics card.
I'm not looking to spend $2k+ but at most maybe around $1000-1300
Edit:
What about something like this, it's fairly cheap mid range PC.

Yeah, these are perfectly fine, although if you can spend a little bit more, go for this ram : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JgLwrH/...6d-16gtznc
(you may or may not know but ryzen processors are pretty sensitive to ram speed, so you'll see a performance benefit, but it's not completely necessary)
and if you want future upgradability, i also suggest going for an x570 instead of a b450 platform, something like this one : https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dmGnTW/...plus-wi-fi
and then again, if you don't plan to upgrade for a long period of time (3 years or more) than the x570 motherboard wouldn't make much sense, i hope that helps

Ok I'll go for that build. Thanks.

You're welcome, good luck
Sell your current pc. Use that money and then some to build a modern build and try to get the new ryzen processors as well as perhaps a 3060, a used 20 series, or an entry level new amd card coming out.

I've got my current PC on sale now but if I get no buyers, I'm still going to upgrade regardless but I'll be having my old PC sitting in my room lol.
