So HF, software tools have drastically changed over the years. What is the latest and greatest or tried and true development tools you are using to build websites?
Are you an old school Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression user? Do you stick with notepad++? Do you run LAMP for local testing?
What does modern development look like for you?
Figma for design.
Visual studio code for coding, it has pretty much everything needed with all the community-made plugin.
I use JetBrains' PHPStorm and Rider the most, Visual Studio and Notepad++ for when I am on Windows and Vim or Doom Emacs when I feel like it.
Installed software for development includes .NET Core, Node.js, yarn, PHP, MariaDB, Nginx, composer, and a lot more I can't think of right now.
I been looking into getting into webdev properly with the laravel framework for php, just need to learn bit more about it and learn some front-end and then i'll be able to start properly developing sites hopefully haha, any good tools i should look at for laravel programming? or front end stuff?

Frontend focused with UI Design: Typescript, React, Redux or Context for state management (depends on app), SCSS, HTML5.
UI Design Tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, Aftereffects for animation or Principle (presentation purposes).
Jetbrains Webstorm preferred for coding environment.
Figma/Sketch for design, really really nice tools.
Notion for product design
Frontend: React & Redux or Vue & Vuex, Sass
Backend: node/ts & mongo or laravel & MySQL, always nginx on CentOS
and I prefer vscode with vim bindings, but I also love using sublime for smaller projects or python scripts

I can vouch for Elementor and the Elementor Pro edition.
It's easy to use WordPress for making websites or adjusting some templates, but Elementor (Pro) allows you to explore the CSS codes and other features that improves your website's design, loading experience and more importantly the experience of the visitor.
I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer.

Honestly I think mines the most simplest here :D
All I really need is Sublime text 3.
My stack is PHP(Laravel), JS(jQuery) & MariaDB. Does wonders :)

Is there a good way to debug laravel stuff whilst you are coding with it? Trying to get into it as I mentioned above and tips are very welcomed hahaha, webdev is really really not my thing 🤣🤣

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'laravel stuff' but in storage/logs/laravel.log you should find some pretty helpful information with your errors.
Personally I have never ever had a problem with jamming echo's n dd's (laravel: die n output var). I found that I can just skim read the error log and instantly know what the error is and fix it accordingly. Happens all the time :)
Take your time with it brother, no rush at all. There's a lot of ground but don't let that prevent you from learning. You'll thank yourself greatly, it's a really lucrative field to be in. ;)
And in regards to your question for front end, i use jQuery (new node programmers hate incominggg). jQuery is simply beautiful Javascript. All native, and truthfully for 99% of the time, it's more than enough.
I haven't bothered with Vue/react as it doesn't really matter to me now as i'm really fluent with jQuery. Each to their own :)

ahhh, I understand. Heard of MVC? Modal / View / Controller. That's primarily how laravel is structured, i'd spend a good time learning it and getting comfortable. Laravel is heavily OOP (Object Oriented Programming, some procedural helper methods) so understanding OOP is important too! enjoy :)
Jetbrains' suite and you're golden. ✌

It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.
Peace out!
