Finding (mostly) vulnerable printers using Shodan.

Step 1:

First, open shodan.io. Use a search operator unique to IoT printers. I find that "toner is low" works pretty well.

You will get a decent amount of results. The majority of these are likely pretty easy to get into.

Step 3:

Find one you want to get into, and access it by visiting the URL on a browser. Occasionally they don't even have username/password features and you will have access immediately. If not, a simple google search for the default login credentials of whatever printer you're trying to access will usually give you what you need.

(note: there are probably easier ways of doing this that I'm not aware of)

Step 4:

Do whatever you want with your new printer!😁
