Pornhub purges all amateur content

Pornhub purges all amateur content, leaving only blue checkmark brand-name porn and pornstars.

If people want to see amateur content, they'll have to go elsewhere like xhamster, motherless, thisvid, heavy-r, or xnxx.

This means pornhub is going to lose millions upon millions and millions of users.
There's already a thread for this in News and Happenings. Been a few days since this happened.

Also, nah. Pornhub's monopoly is 100% secure. Even if they aren't letting rando's post their full length meme compilations and un-verified "18 year old (totally not underaged)" content. I understand why they made the changes they did, and doubt it'll hurt them all that much, if any (probably help them).
Here to vibe.
3d porn is garbage. hentai gang rise up.

This happened like a week ago now, pretty sure i seen a thread on it already.

And no Pornhub wont lose millions of users, if this decision was going to lose them money they wouldnt do it.
Ah well. Less porn on the internet the better. It's incredibly damaging addictive material. Not acting Holier than Thou here, just think it's probably a good thing in the grand scheme of things.

Same with xtube as well.
My videos have been removed from xtube and all the videos I used to watch. =/

Though it's cold and lonely in the deep dark night.
I can see paradise by the dashboard light.

Don't even think this is a bad idea
They could not keep track of every single video
That way lots of videos containing gore or even minors got uploaded
I will renounce amateur content happily, if it helps preventing people form uploading the stuff mentioned

While it sucks, and millions of users hate the decision (and will go elsewhere for content) they won't lose any money.
Infact, they might make more.
Popular services do stuff like this all of the time, where they make a radical decision that most of the users hate (but have no choice but to accept).
You saw this with the Youtube update last year that disallowed the monetization of videos with profanity, you saw this with the Snapchat update that added subscriptions and changed the way stories are displayed, you saw this with the Instagram & Twitter updates, etc.
In the end, they're all making more money than before.

This is definitely true. I wouldn't be surprised if they make more considering verified users will be getting all the views now.
Yes, it was a sad day for the internet.
They don't want themselves to be called a homeless persons brazzers any more.
