So I know they aren't allowed because of the questionability of them being legal / not.

BUT. I think there are a lot of services advertised that meet the same legality issues as ddos for hire services.

I think if they allow it, but heavily monitor who can post, and perhaps even manually review each thread and limit it to services worthy of the name it could be great (again), personally I own one and not being able to advertise it on this forum is the only thing holding me back from loving this forum. My opinion tho.

Many other forums still allow it and haven't really seen many issues, we are in a new decade, 202*, I think HF can surely find a solution to this, as stated in Omnis post, the few rewin it for the many, so surely there wasn't really a legality issue, but more of a monitoring issue on HF's part, if they monitored more closely perhaps less problems would occur.

I’m pretty sure a European agency created an account on here and warned everyone about DDOS and asked the HF admins to stop it. That was awhile back.

I think in cases where things are legally questionable some of them are just more trouble than their worth to the site - DDOS being one of them.

wrong. DDoS for hire was not allowed before mirai was released.

The good 'ol days ey! I actually didn't realise DDOS was still a big thing at all not like it used to be at all.
However, I do know a lot of people who still ddos but at least they stopped calling it hacking these days lol

The main reason users still DDOS is actually mostly due to SE which areas cannot be covered here either.
DDOS used to be in the top areas of "hacking" first it was wifi hacking followed by ratting and then we went hardcore with stress testing lol
