I ran into a submarine in the middle of the ocean

A few days ago I was fishing around 25 mi out to sea heading to my usual fishing spot where I saw what looked like other (fishing) boats far in the distance. I ended up using them as my heading and went straight towards them not even thinking it could be something else. As I got closer I started to make out the top of the sub and it's fins and realized what I came across. A few minutes later 2 helicopters buzzed me SUPER low for around a minute or so making it obvious they didn't want me anywhere near the area. I got scared and got tf out of there and the helicopters disappeared into the distance. Out of my 20+ years of being in the ocean this is the first time I've come across a sub and I got to say it was a LOT bigger than I was expecting, and it gives you a really eerie feeling.

thanks for coming to my TED talk
bro i still can't fathom how people care not get claustrophobic being stuck under water.

That's crazy story man, I've never seen a sub in action. Was it military? My dad and I one time were in the fog and we were cruising out to sea going maybe 25-30 kts, pretty damn fast. We almost ran into a navy ship way out there because they had some kind of radar blockers on that fucked up our radar.

That’s pretty insane, if I ran into a sub while cruising out I’d just die on the spot thanks.

I would absolutely love to try this, I have zero fear in the air, would love to test my fear underwater.

How it works: Cable and Internet.

definitely military, there was another big military battle ship looking boat near it probably re stocking it with supplies or something.  Definitely wasn't about to take a pic when they're an $18b war machine and I'm a $40k piece of floating fiberglass, wood, and foam.

It was actually off of Ka'ena point/North shore 😆
Hey on the bright side atleast they didnt send a fat torpedo straight through your boat LMAO. I had no clue those things were still roaming the oceans.

Agreed im actually really curious to see how this would look in person. But tbh I'd be too scared to even consider pulling my phone out
Must of been a nice sight to witness in person. Pretty cool!

haha hell no b4 they get mad and send a torpedo my way. Jk, I've had multiple ruins with both the navy and marines and most of the time it wasn't too bad, they just politely tell you that you're too close to a secured area and ask you to leave.
