$IPOF Due Diligence - Great Opportunity!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my dd on $IPOF. Posted this in my group on January 28th, 2021.

Currently sitting at $11.91 at the time of posting, perfect opportunity to get in while the market is taking a hit.

$IPOF - Position started at $12.96, looking to average down.

Social Capital Hedosophia Holdings Corp. VI is one of Chamath Palihapitiya’s targetless SPACs.

- The man leading this SPAC, Chamath Palihapitiya, is one of the most influential figures in todays investing world as he is also leading the IPO 2.0 revolution (SPACs), previously bringing SPCE through IPOA, Open-door through IPOB, Clover Health through IPOC & SoFi through IPOE.

- IPOF is the largest (has more funding) of the three new SPACs Social Capital’s Chamath Palihapitiya has brought to the markets (IPOD, IPOE & IPOF). IPOD is $400 million in size, IPOE is $700 million in size, and IPOF is a billion-dollar SPAC. They intend to effect a merger, share exchange, asset acquisition, share purchase, reorganization, or similar business combination with one or more businesses in the technology industries.

- Trust Value: $1.15b, adding the average PIPE means funding would be around $1.85b.

- This one has great potential because the funds in trust is high, meaning PIPE will in reality probably be higher than the average, so their capital is great enough to close one of the largest SPAC deals ever with a highly desirable unicorn. The estimated valuation of the target company is $6BN-$9BN.

Some potential targets:

Discord - $7b Internet Software and Services

Gusto - $3.61b - Fintech

Brex - $3.5b - Fintech

Niantic - $3.95b - Mobile and Telecommunications

Toast - $3.61b - Fintech

Hashicorp - $4.3b - Internet Software and Services

Automation Anywhere - $6.8b - Artificial Intelligence

Marqeta - $4.3b - Fintech

- I personally believe that starting a position within 30% near NAV is fair given the premium you are paying for Chamath’s great previous SPAC track record and experience. There is a very small likelihood that this will not succeed.

How low do you think it'll drop before it starts back up on the rise?

Hard to say, but I wouldn’t worry too much. At these prices the risk is very low, especially when its a SPAC backed by Chamath. If a merger does not go through (highly unlikely), your shares will be liquidated at $10. There’s always room for patience though, so try to get in as close to NAV as possible!
