I have been watching many homeless videos throughout the world and in particular an African guy seems to be making the most recent helping homeless videos by the name of: BI Phakathi -

It has occurred to me that they always go for bread and coke as their first choice of a meal, can we shed some light on this?

My best guess is they want bread cause it’s basic and filling and they want a coke cause it’s got the flavor they feigning for as a homeless man. It’s a rare pleasure of theirs and coke has them by the balls apparently

Bread makes the most sense as it's cheap, filling and is everywhere, you could also put tons of stuff in it to upgrade it, also you don't need much to store it and it doesn't go bad quickly.

Coke, I'm guessing is just their first soda choice and the most well known drink, water they probably get all the time

Maybe because they were thinking it will suffice their hunger if they will take bread and coke for their meal for it was both rich on carbohydrates :D

it's something familiar and easy to eat when you've got next to no appetite or haven't eaten in a while. I always loved bread with some butter. Super simple.

Coke is a minor high i suppose, also somewhat nostalgic for most.

I guess maybe cuz that's what they're used to. You get few coins, you go and buy a cheap drink with sugar from the vending machine. You're hungry? you go and buy bread cuz it's cheap and filling.
