Where does a thought go when it's forgotten?

Come on, we've all experienced it at somepoint..

You're sitting there with a great idea, you go make yourself a coffee, and boom the thought is gone.

and then when you try to think of it, you feel like its right there.. its teasing you, but you just can't remember any detail.
I forget thots all the time thanks for asking

a spooky place, one must travel to in order to retrieve such thoughts
They all go to Stanley I'm sure of it, this bastard takes everything.
Your brain burns it off like a calorie.
Do you want the scientific answer?

I've read some things about dreams and deja-vu that are long forgotten but the brain stores them like as an IP address and you don't recall them til your consciously in that neighborhood of IP's.

I wish I could find that paper again because it was a damn good one and could explain much better than how I'm trying to.

no cap. he stealin everything nowadays, from bytes, too more bytes.
Happens to me sometimes, and I hate it every single time it happens, like when I'm trying to get something but forgot what I was getting, lmao.
It's funny how you can remember the thought by backtracking the conversation/actions sometimes. Weird how the brain works like that
N/A
I have a notes called 'my great ideas'.... I try to write it down before getting a coffee!
My recycle bin (like on ur computer). Sometimes it is recovered, but most of the time, it is not.

hmm people say that you should go back to where you was when you initially had the thought and it'll come back to you.
never worked for me though
I like to think they go into a special thought lottery where all your really good ideas and other misc thoughts go, etc.. eventually they make they way into someone else’s memory bank and now Amazon. That is all.
There's a whole process that's supposed to help you remember stuff more easily with associations and such, I forget things in the daily and I'm working on it, I can have a conversation and forget what it was about midway.. I've been doing much better now tho
