I needed a web developer to create an online chatroom and video site, Alone Vampire promised me a custom coded website which wouldn't be based on wordpress, all gfx work and email push notifications, in exchange for £1100.

I paid an initial £400 deposit on 20th May 2020 and then a further £300 on 10th June 2020, after many delays and terrible communication on he produced a wordpress website which lacked every single feature requested. ie; custom uploads, 200+ user stability, it was simply a blank theme with a 5 user max chat-room plugin. https://dass.io/shunk/

I requested a refund based on the poor results, but he said he was unable to provide a refund due to covid taking strain on his business and informed me he would refund in 2 months. I accepted this as covid was starting to become a huge thing and I understood businesses were struggling.

2 months later he said he was still struggling and could not refund, so I asked him to start a contract with me for added security. I initially didn't think I needed a contract as he told me numerous times he was ex staff.

I'd ask him each month for an update but he would say he was broke or make up excuses, eventually in Feburary 2021 I threatened to open a report, and he refunded me $200.

Since then there has been minimal communication, over the past 2 weeks he's been online regularly but has ignored my messages.

The first part of the chat is missing because my discord was termed, I had to actually pay somebody here $10 to PM him my new discord because he wouldn't accept my request.

Unfortunately for me a couple months after I paid, I found a dispute against Alone Vampire for an extremely similar issue, they wanted a custom coded chat room, but alone delivered it late and broken. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=5074534

I feel like this is a straight up scam, rather than a misunderstanding, and that he believed he could target me based on me being a new member. I made it clear in my initial thread, that I wanted a custom platform. https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6074980
He also said that he would not use wordpress and would deliver a clean code.

It doesnt matter how much would you or anyone else would charge, he accepted the deal so...

I hate these people smh... sorry you had to wait so long with no results, hoping he will refund everything back.

Thanks for the advice, but it's been 11 Months. I don't think any bank will allow a charge back after such time.

I agree. It has been probably too long and the bank won't allow that.
On the other hand maybe you can get his legal contacts since it was a card payment and not crypto and file something against him.
